Can someone clear up why its free for the PS3?
Are they just providing it as a free download or something? cuz if so thats awesome!

Mashimaro 02-02-2009 12:34 PM

free to play online with the PSN network once you purchase the game. unlike xbox which charges you a fee for online use.

yup getting the PS3 version... the Ryu figure can go next to my Street Fighter 15th anniversary Akuma bust!!!

Normally I always choose the 360 version over the PS3 but this time I gotta go with the PS3. I'm already used to playing games like KOF and SF on the PS controller and the xbo 360 controller is horrible for these games.

inzomniak 02-02-2009 09:35 PM

I can never understand the logic of using a controller to play SF.

You can never pull off some of the combos and juggles with a D-pad that you can do with a joystick.

But for those who like to use the D-pad, they are coming out with special Xbox controllers with a 6 button interface... so there is no need to use the triggers...

You can Youtube it, they have a video describing the d-pad, and the two joysticks from Madcatz

sure u can, i play any street fighter game with a controller easily. I prefer the controller over the arcade stick actually

What would be the best alternative to the $150 SFIV TE stick out right now? I wish there was an adapter so I could plug my brother's PS3 controller into my X360.

It may be more precise, but its a lot slower to react with.

Same here, but I just recently started playing with arcade sticks, and found it easier to punish opponents with an arcade stick. But I guess its just personal preference.

skholla 02-03-2009 09:31 AM

arcade sticks rule... hands down there is no comparison! since i cant justify paying $150+ per stick for authentic joysticks i will be using controllers too.

the xbox controller sucks balls for fighting games, the ps3 controller is better but the d-pad is terrible. get one of the mad catz street fighter controllers, the d-pads are way better and they have 6 buttons on the front. i will be using my street fighter 15th anniversary PS2 controllers on my PS3, they rock!

Maybe for the older street fighters... but for 3rd Strike... I just can't see how it's possible.

For Ken's Medium, Fierce, Dragon Punch, i have to have 3 fingers on all 3 punch buttons to make it work. And if you are using a super aggressive character like Dudley... you need to keep jabbing and shorting to create a super cancel opportunity.

Maybe my right thumb movement just isn't as fast as you guys hahahaha

skholla 02-06-2009 09:41 AM

hands down joysticks give a more enjoyable and accurate gameplay...

...im not going to shell out $300+ for a pair of authentic joysticks so i am stuck with controllers. i have a couple of these from 2004 and they work great. i just ordered a couple ps2>usb cables to make these work with my ps3. check them out...

is anyone on here old enough to remember these controllers? i wanted them back in the day but i never ordered them from capcom. there was also a version for the panasonic 3do...

i hate people who play with their fingers like that on a normal controller.

i ordered a hori joystick too... so stoked for this game.

thats where customized button configuration come into play
i never play with the default button set up

unit 02-06-2009 10:26 AM

^i liked learning to play w/ defaults, because its so annoying to change buttons every few round when u play w/ friends.

skholla 02-08-2009 01:32 PM

you have to pre-order online... i ordered mine to bestbuy.ca so i could collect reward zone points.
