Ulic Qel-Droma 02-24-2009 06:45 AM

yeah im not very good at these games either. There's no way I can beat him at my current skill level. First round totally tricked me. I was like "he's kinda hard, but this is too easy". then second round he proceeded to obliterate me. I don't think I even threw an attack that made contact with him. They all completely missed and were quickly returned with some super uppercuts and body slams and a lot of teleporting around.

skholla 02-24-2009 08:14 AM

seth is a funny opponent. at the standard medium difficulty he is a breeze in the first round (as usual), in the second round he sticks to his patterns... either you whip his ass with simple two hit combos or he beats you over and over again.

hotjoint 02-24-2009 10:51 AM

Try beating seth on hardest :) some people I know have a hard time beating him on easiest.

dub.g 02-24-2009 02:18 PM

i had a hard time beating abel and zangief with El Fuerte on the easiest setting and one round

i think abel took me 9 tries.. and zangief took me more than 15 i think.. El Fuerte is one guy i will not bother to learn to use.. he is agile and quick but i jus dont like his movesets...

hotjoint 02-24-2009 02:29 PM

yeah I'm not feeling el fuerte as well.

unit 02-24-2009 02:29 PM

seth can be a cheap mofo, but now i can beat him almost every time

Grandmaster TSE 02-24-2009 02:30 PM

i love using el fuerte, its so much fun, haha

AhXian 02-24-2009 04:02 PM

anyone know where i can order the hrap3 sa edition online?

ps. if u guys just want to beat seth on the hardest difficulty to get the achevment/torphy to show off, u can just use zangief and spam his rollcoster atk(press all 3 punch), you will win for sure.

skholla 02-24-2009 04:14 PM

it was for sale on play-asia and horistore. i think that it is sold out now, you will have to find an online auction and pay threw the nose... or you can do what i did, get a regular hrap3 and just order the sanwa buttons.

AhXian 02-24-2009 04:42 PM

i think dats what i will do. is there any difference between the regular(black and red) version and the white version? the white one is a bit more expensive.
also how hard is it to replace the buttons? is it just soldering some wires?

Hehe 02-24-2009 04:52 PM

Hrap3 has Sanwa stick but Hori buttons while the SA (white) are all Sanwa parts inside.

locked_up 02-24-2009 05:10 PM

i got it for my modded 360 because im poor. i got sf2 hd remix for the ps3 tho

windchaser 02-24-2009 10:02 PM

anywhere still got a copy of sf4 for sale ? its sold out everywhere @@

Razor Ramon HG 02-24-2009 10:47 PM

It's been almost a week and it's still sold out, shit.

Afaik there are a few hrap3's... The regular black one, white, black sf4 edition, white SA. The regular white one is only $30 more on play-asia but u have to factor in exchange and shipping. I got my hrap3 $140 cad all in from amazon.com with free shipping to the US. I just ordered all white sanwa buttons and a white joystick ball from akihabara-shop and it cost me $45 cad all in. Swapping the buttons is an easy mod, the are connected with quick disconnects like car speakers. Check out the technical forums over at shoryuken.com for more info.

Grandmaster TSE 02-25-2009 02:01 PM

for those that still have trouble unlocking akuma and/or gouken, this is taken from capcom

To unlock Akuma as a playable character:
1. Unlock Cammy, Fei Long, Dan, Sakura, Rose, and Gen.
2. Pick a character you have already used to beat Arcade Mode.
3. Win all your matches without continuing and without losing any rounds before fighting with Seth.
4. You need to get at least one "perfect" win in a round, and more than one depending on how many rounds per match you are playing.

- 1 round match: 1 perfect round or more
- 3 round match: 2 perfect rounds or more
- 5 round match: 3 perfect rounds or more
- 7 round match: 4 perfect rounds or more

(including the last battle against Seth)

5. If you meet these conditions, Akuma will appear. Defeat him to unlock Akuma as a selectable character.

To unlock Gouken as a playable character:
1. Complete Arcade Mode playing as Akuma and watch (not necessary to watch everything) an ending.
2. Then, unlock Gouken as an opponent, and defeat him.

Necessary conditions to unlock Gouken as an opponent:

- Play with any characters with which you watched the ending once (so play using a character you have already beaten the game with)
- Do not continue at all.
- Do not lose at all. Not even one round (easier if you only play 1-round matches)
- Achieve certain number (or more) of "Perfect" rounds. The number of Perfect Win you need to achieve are:

If you play on
- 1 round match: 1 time or more
- 3 round match: 2 times or more
- 5 round match: 3 times or more
- 7 round match: 4 times or more

- Achieve a certain number (or more) of Super Combo -OR- Ultra Combo Finishes. Super and Ultra finishes both count toward this number. The number of super/ultra finishes you need to achieve are:

If you play on
- 1 round match: 3 times or more
- 3 round match: 5 times or more
- 5 round match: 7 times or more
- 7 round match: 9 times or more

- Achieve certain number (or more) of First Attack (this means you must score the first strike in a match--the screen gives you the "First Attack" message, and you can mostly do this without even noticing):

The number of First Attack you need to achieve are:

If you play on
- 1 round match: 5 times or more
- 3 round match: 10 times or more
- 5 round match: 15 times or more
- 7 round match: 20 times or more

- Then Gouken will appear. Kick his butt to unlock him!

Berzerker 02-25-2009 02:53 PM

I really need to learn these EX moves... I still have no clue what I am doing with them lol. I'm just playing like old SF2 and barely getting by. Then I see guys do some crazy shit and I think WTF I wanna do that!

Berz out.

skholla 02-25-2009 03:17 PM

did you get into SF3 at all? EX moves were a part of that game too but not as big as SF4. to perform an EX move just do a regular move (ie, fireball, uppercut) and use two buttons instead of one (2x punch). you character will flash like they are on fire and the move will hit a few times more than usual if it connects. this will use one full bar from your combo meter.

Berzerker 02-25-2009 03:25 PM

Is there a way to charge your combo meter faster?

Berz out.
