as for the track package, it was supposed to start at 29 or 30k, whereas mine started at 24.5k |
Congrats on the purchase. You're the first person to put his money where his mouth is heh. |

Damn you, Eric.. I almost bought one today, but didn't.. The stealership's offer on my car was a huge insult.. :( |
ATTN 1990TSI! I am so jealous of you right now that it hurts. |
i thought that i would post some quotes for all you guys that are wondering on how much it would actually be to finance one these. All will be for 72 months at 2.6% interest. 2.0T base 455/month 2.0T Premium 504/month 2.0T GT 558/month V6 Premium 596/month V6 GT 630/month these are all with 0 down. Also these are just the manual ones if you want auto then you can add about 25 dollars to each trevor North Shore hyundai |
nice plug.. haha |
not really a plug. Just that some one was asking how much they are and i answered that with specific information because i work there. |
Took a 6spd 2.0T out for a quick boot today, and a auto yesterday, both premium trim. Overall, I am VERY impressed with the quality of the ride, and interior. The interior finish, and feel reminds me of the new 2010 Mazda 3's. The biggest complaints I have are the rear window/lack of visibility when backing up (but in a sports car that can't really be counted against it can it?), and I absolutely HATED the feel of the shifter. |
^^^ u can't drive a stick!!! hahaha jk jk 1990TSI how much u payin for insurance a month if ya don't mind me asking? ur specs? |
So I went to the dealership in Kelowna today, they have a brand new 2.0GTTouring in Black.. Sooo sexy (can't believe i used 'sexy' to describe a hyundai) -Finance rate is 2.6% for up to 84 mths.. -got some $$ from the service department.. Just to have an idea as to how much running costs would add up for the 2.0T.. I was blown away (not because it was super pricey, but it's cheap!).. It uses regular dyno oil.. Service 1 is only $29.99... A timing belt job on this car is only $299 (when it requires it..)... Hmm, now should I let the dealership rape me on the trade-in value of my car.. :( Anyone wants to buy a 04 Mazda 6 GT V6 5spd manual hatchback?? :D |
One thing to add.. the key fob is so damn ugly!!! Anyone know if you can retrofit one from the Genesis sedan (that fob looked like a BMW one.. so much sexier) |

It was the first one insured in BC though, so the rate might change. the lady said it doesn't usually change by much though and could go up or down |
that does look pretty hot. im in seoul right now..and the cars here look like they need some plastic surgery. |
Damn I want one of these, too bad trade in value is total rapeage :( |
stolen from some great writer: This is the average of 3 dyno pulls. All three started at the same coolant temps, air temps and fuel trims. The Ign advance value was taken from the OBD-2 port. The Boost was taken from an external high accuracy sensor. The dyno is a mustang eddy current. 91 octane. All 3 pulls yielded very similar results. 100% Stock Genesis 2.0T RPM HP Ft-Lbs Adv Boost 2600 105 210 1 13.1 2700 108 209 1 13.6 2800 109 206 2 14.1 2900 109 201 3 14.1 3000 113 195 3 13.1 3100 114 193 4 12.6 3200 115 190 5 12.3 3300 115 185 6 12.2 3400 122 187 7 11.8 3500 125 187 7 11.7 3600 126 185 8 11.7 3700 131 185 8 11.8 3800 133 185 9 12.0 3900 135 182 9 12.2 4000 136 179 9 12.2 4100 138 178 10 12.0 4200 140 175 10 11.8 4300 143 174 10 11.8 4400 146 175 11 11.5 4500 149 174 11 11.3 4600 150 172 11 11.3 4700 150 169 12 11.3 4800 152 167 12 11.3 4900 154 165 12 11.3 5000 156 164 12 11.3 5100 157 162 12 11.3 5200 161 162 13 11.2 5300 162 161 13 11.0 5400 163 159 14 11.0 5500 164 156 15 10.5 5600 163 153 16 10.0 5700 164 151 16 9.5 5800 164 148 17 9.4 5900 163 146 17 9.0 6000 163 143 17 8.9 6100 163 140 17 8.9 6200 164 139 17 8.9 6300 164 136 17 9.2 6400 164 135 17 9.2 |

Seems like the turbo is not big enough for the engine, boost is dropping constantly from 2900 rpm, turbo upgrade time! ;) |
here are a bunch of pics i found of some in korea. http://www.fitfreak.net/forums/other...is-coupes.html |
The nice thing though is the turbo's hotside isn't integrated into the exhaust manifold like some recent turbo cars, and it looks like a pretty standard mitsu td04 of some sort - upgrading will be easy. Quote:

easy peasy to throw a T88 on there and bump that power band up from 2600rpm to above redline! I gotta figure out how hyundai feels about warranty and changing key parts like turbo and fuel system etc. |
big time. Man I'd love to build a stainless header/turbo kit for one of these things. |

And from what I remember you're 110% capable to do that... hmmmm I got a friend who want's to build a 3" dual exhaust, I guess who I know who'll will build a manifold, D/P ;) |
