Wow. That's great value. How much extra was the track package?

haha yea. I got the first one in BC and possibly canada, not sure. I get to be one of the guinea pigs. I'm sure it will all work out for the best though.

as for the track package, it was supposed to start at 29 or 30k, whereas mine started at 24.5k

Congrats on the purchase. You're the first person to put his money where his mouth is heh.

HyundaiGuyTrev 02-27-2009 10:20 PM

Wykydtron 02-28-2009 03:59 PM

Took a 6spd 2.0T out for a quick boot today, and a auto yesterday, both premium trim. Overall, I am VERY impressed with the quality of the ride, and interior. The interior finish, and feel reminds me of the new 2010 Mazda 3's. The biggest complaints I have are the rear window/lack of visibility when backing up (but in a sports car that can't really be counted against it can it?), and I absolutely HATED the feel of the shifter.

slvr04rsx 02-28-2009 05:06 PM

^^^ u can't drive a stick!!! hahaha jk jk

1990TSI how much u payin for insurance a month if ya don't mind me asking? ur specs?

too_slow 02-28-2009 05:12 PM

So I went to the dealership in Kelowna today, they have a brand new 2.0GTTouring in Black.. Sooo sexy (can't believe i used 'sexy' to describe a hyundai)

-Finance rate is 2.6% for up to 84 mths..
-got some $$ from the service department.. Just to have an idea as to how much running costs would add up for the 2.0T.. I was blown away (not because it was super pricey, but it's cheap!).. It uses regular dyno oil.. Service 1 is only $29.99... A timing belt job on this car is only $299 (when it requires it..)...

Hmm, now should I let the dealership rape me on the trade-in value of my car.. :(

Anyone wants to buy a 04 Mazda 6 GT V6 5spd manual hatchback?? :D

too_slow 02-28-2009 05:15 PM

One thing to add.. the key fob is so damn ugly!!! Anyone know if you can retrofit one from the Genesis sedan (that fob looked like a BMW one.. so much sexier)

about $150/month with 1mil liability, 500 collision and 300 comprehensive. That's for squamish though, you all will pay more because we don't have a richmond. That's at 40% discount as well.

It was the first one insured in BC though, so the rate might change. the lady said it doesn't usually change by much though and could go up or down

Minata 03-01-2009 03:57 PM

that does look pretty hot.
im in seoul right now..and the cars here look like they need some plastic surgery.

!Yaminashi 03-01-2009 06:10 PM

Damn I want one of these, too bad trade in value is total rapeage :(

This is the average of 3 dyno pulls. All three started at the same coolant temps, air temps and fuel trims. The Ign advance value was taken from the OBD-2 port. The Boost was taken from an external high accuracy sensor. The dyno is a mustang eddy current. 91 octane. All 3 pulls yielded very similar results.

Seems like the turbo is not big enough for the engine, boost is dropping constantly from 2900 rpm, turbo upgrade time! ;)

slvr04rsx 03-06-2009 05:46 PM

here are a bunch of pics i found of some in korea.

Captain Bondo 03-06-2009 06:00 PM

The nice thing though is the turbo's hotside isn't integrated into the exhaust manifold like some recent turbo cars, and it looks like a pretty standard mitsu td04 of some sort - upgrading will be easy.

Apparently the factory turbo is much smaller than the EVO one....
http://www.rwdhyundai.com/photos/cou...oupe_turbo.jpg

so chipping it to 300HP is physically impossible. To get to EVOX power you are going to need a turbo and/or intercooler swap...

1990TSI 03-06-2009 11:37 PM

easy peasy to throw a T88 on there and bump that power band up from 2600rpm to above redline!

I gotta figure out how hyundai feels about warranty and changing key parts like turbo and fuel system etc.

Captain Bondo 03-06-2009 11:39 PM

big time.
Man I'd love to build a stainless header/turbo kit for one of these things.

And from what I remember you're 110% capable to do that... hmmmm

why didn't they bring the Genesis brand? I heard that Hyundai was trying to bring the Genesis brand here just like Lexus, Acura and Infiniti.

Totally. If I buy this thing, the badge will be the first thing to go. What should I put in its place?
