ok I just went to the dealership just to check it out. They had a black one.

The interior looked really nice, I didn't sit in it but from what it looks, the material looks pretty good, it didn't have the cheap plastic looking.

I was not impressed with the exterior tho, it didn't look that cool. Maybe because it was bone stock.

oh but it had black housing headlights. which i have never seen in the pictures.

I wonder if Hyundai has fixed their new car smell yet? Last new one I sat in reeked of glue, mothballs and kimchi. I'd still rock one of these though, so long as they threw in a pack of pine trees.

Remember few months back, there was a thread with a Genesis Coupe that's been totaled. no one had faith in me when i said the genesis coupes gonna friggin own

!Aznboi128 02-10-2009 11:26 PM

skyxx 02-11-2009 01:32 AM

I believe the 2.0's engine block is the same as Mitsu's 4B11.

Good thing your taste in appearance of a car is usually far from a normal human, amen

Synaptik 02-11-2009 02:02 AM

this car is going to define this generation's entry level sports cars the same way integras/240zxs did 20 years ago. hyundai's break couldnt've come at a better time.

yangwenli 02-11-2009 03:11 AM

sadly its rep will be ruined by ricers

why not

the 4B11 2.0T is alot more fun... EVO engine FTW

it would be costly to mod a 2.0T. at least 15K to get it up to 300ish hp.

Nightwalker 02-11-2009 04:16 AM

The way the window dips down after the A pillar still bothers me, but I'm really liking everything else about this car.

No way man. Pretty simple actually.

-Injectors: $400
-Engine Management (AEM F/iC): $450
-Boost Controller: $500
-Air/Water pre cooler (small air water inercooler to assist air/air intercooler): $400
- Water Pump - $100
- Reservoir - $ 200
- Fab - $200
- Misc Parts - $200
------------------------
$2450

Should be able to make 300HP easy with that.

I don't think you need anything more than a chip for 300bhp man. :p

Mugen EvOlutioN 02-11-2009 07:58 AM

its a 4B11, ppl in korea is already slapping GT30 turbos on it

!SG 02-11-2009 08:41 AM

hyundai got a winner!

u know u got something going good when aftermarket support is strong!

what i think they should have done sooner, was to give a car to some top aftermarket brands to play with. win win situation.

hk20000 02-11-2009 08:56 AM

^ They thought of that before you did! check the HKS car!

that was waaaaay long time ago before it was even released in Korea! HKS had one I think Rhys Millen also had one before launch anywhere in the world.

unit 02-11-2009 09:18 AM

its a big step foward but i cant say i like it..
the front and rear just keep reminding me of the old tiburons.
also the rear passenger windows look very strange to me.

great bang for the buck tho in terms of performance and not to mention the great warranty that comes with it. cant wait to see how many warranties get voided within their first month though.

3seriesBeeM 02-11-2009 09:51 AM

wow hyundai is picking up there game those other manufacturers better watch out. I wouldnt mind picking one of these babies up. looks good with just rims and a drop

Jackygor 02-11-2009 10:48 AM

If this 4B11T is the same as the one in the evo, a simple tune will boost it up to around 230-240 rwhp, assuming stock hp rwhp is around 180-190. I have a feeling that the stock turbo would run out of breath at around 320-340 rwhp though...

i loved the concept of the genesis coupe:
http://www.cars.com/features/autosho...oupe_0_430.jpg
http://www.autoincar.com/wp-content/...-concept-2.jpg

and the production looks very similiar! i wouldnt mind owning one. Can't wait to see some track reviews on this car. doesnt look to agile from the drift video... either that or the driver is a noob. The only thing that it could do without is the dip in the rear quarter window.... if it was straight up it would go better with the lines of the car.

and i dunno about the rest of you guys, but im a huge fan of the genesis sedan, even more so thant he coupe. damn damn damn!
