imo anything higher than 100k for this car is ridiculous.

JackyJai 02-13-2009 12:52 PM

Seriously who would pay $180,000 for a Skyline GT-R when you can own a used Gallardo or Ferrari for much less than that?
When R35 with mark up at $110,000 is consider ridiculous and a R34 for $180,000?
In about 5 years this car would only worth 1/10 of this price when the 99' R34 can be imported here.

kyo 02-13-2009 01:09 PM

we're in an recession, so just like buying a condo/house, offer them 50% off of the price tag LOL

yup, 90,000 seems about reasonable for it.

thumper 02-13-2009 01:27 PM

what is the current going rate for this car overseas (ie. japan)?

This is the GTR M-Spec Nur edition. There were only 250 of these made.....EVER. It came off the line in February 2002 as a final special edition for the R34 GTR series with upgraded interior and the same engine as the N1 racing version (only 45 made). Definitely worth the money for rarity, not just in Canada but worldwide. Here's some information on it:

The GT-R reappeared in 1999, with a revised chassis and other updates. The R34 turbos received a ball bearing core. The R34 N1 turbos had a metal exhaust wheel, and ball bearing center section. A stronger 6-speed Getrag gearbox was used. The turbo outlet pipes were changed from cast to formed metal outlets. The intercooler had a temperature probe in the V-spec models.

Models:

* GT-R - 2.6 L RB26DETT twin-turbo I6, 332 PS (244 kW, 392 Nm) (advertised as 280)[19]
* GT-R V-Spec - Additional aero parts, brake ventilation ducts, diffuser.
* GT-R V-Spec II - As above + carbon fibre bonnet with NACA duct.
* GT-R N1 - Blueprinted N1 motor, no A/C, no stereo, no rear wiper, basic interior trim. (only 45 made)
* GT-R M-Spec - Leather interior, softer suspension with "Ripple Control" dampers, heated seats.
* GT-R V-Spec II Nür - As above V-Spec II + N1 motor, 300 km/h speedo. (only 750 made)
* GT-R M-Spec Nür - As above M-Spec + N1 motor, 300 km/h speedo. (only 250 made)
* GT-R NISMO R-tune
* GT-R NISMO Z-tune - 2.8 L (bored and stroked) RB26DETT Z2 twin-turbo I6, 500 PS (368 kW, 540 Nm) Z1 and Z2 (Only 20 made)

Another special model of the R34 GT-R is the M-spec. It was similar to the V-spec, but had special "Ripple control" dampers and a leather interior with heated front seats.

At the time of the R34's release, like the R32 and R33, Nissan released an R34 N1 model. The R34 GT-R N1 was equipped similar to the R32 and R33 N1 models - a homologation special. It was sold without ABS, air conditioning, audio equipment, rear wiper, or carpet in the trunk. The new R34 N1 was also given the new R34 N1 engine. Only 45 R34 N1 models were produced from the factory, 12 of which were used by Nismo for Super Taikyu racing. The rest were sold to various customers, mostly racing teams, and tuning garages.

In August 2000, Nissan released a newer V-Spec II GT-R model. The V-Spec II has increased stiffness in the suspension (even stiffer than the original V-spec) and had larger brake rotors on the rear. It also comes equipped with a carbon fiber hood, which is lighter than the aluminum that all other GT-R hoods are made from. Also different on the V-Spec II was an iridium center console and aluminium pedals. The seats were also made with black cloth rather than the gray cloth used on previous R34 GT-R models, and the amber turn lenses were replaced with white versions. From this point on the standard trim level GT-Rs and V-Specs also received these updates, with the exception of the carbon fiber bonnet.

In February 2002 Nissan released a final production model of the R34 GT-R called the Nür. Nissan also released a limited Manufacturer Special model designated the M-Spec. This came in two forms, the base M-Spec, and the Nür. The Nür was sold in 2 different models: the Skyline GT-R V-spec II Nür and the previously mentioned Skyline GT-R M-spec Nür. The Nür was named after the famous German Nürburgring racetrack, where the Skyline was developed. The Nür model featured an improved RB26DETT based on the N1 racing engine, used by Nismo in Motorsports. The V-spec II Nür is based on the regular V-spec II model, and the M-spec Nür was based on the regular M-spec model. Other than the addition of the Nür engine, the Nür models also included a different color of stitching on the interior trim, as well as a speedometer reading up to 300 km/h (186 mph).

Production figures

Standard Cars = 3,964
V-Spec = 7,301
N1 Race Version = 45[12]
Total = 11,310

I'm curious if it's registered as a kit car/u-build or something else...

mmmmmic 02-14-2009 12:59 PM

I suppose you can get it street legal with a collector's plate,
as the worldwide production number is under a certain number.

According to the PDF weissach provided, its an u-build
http://207.232.100.193/weissach/pdf/gtrspecs.pdf

boibuddha 02-14-2009 01:48 PM

I swear there was a thread on here (~about a year ago) about an R34 skyline being a kit car or something along those lines. He kept everything on the DL and there were rumours about ICBC keeping an eye on it..

The one I'm speaking of may be another vehicle, but I'm just putting this info out there.

.Renn.Sport 02-14-2009 02:26 PM

there should be a white R34 in coquitlam also. its been spotted a few times.

windchaser 02-14-2009 07:05 PM

the loop hole is ..... take a car apart into pieces. Ship it over and assemble them. Register it as u built. It is lots of work and money involved !! But if someone is willing to pay for 180000 then i guess its more than worth it.

thumper 02-14-2009 07:20 PM

so... $180k for a u-build 02 nur-spec, or $81.9k (base, if you could even buy it for that much before dealer markup?) for a brand new 09 gtr?

maybe because i'm poor this dosen't make rational sense to me :confused:

.Renn.Sport 02-14-2009 07:42 PM

if it was a striped R34 along with all Z-Tune parts and fly the Nismo engineers to build it together... then its worth the 180k, since then, its no difference then a Z-Tune sold in Japan :D

TouringTeg 02-14-2009 09:21 PM

Yes you can get a new GTR cheaper but this is for some one who loves the R34 GTR and wants a very exclusive car (in Canada). It was obviously a huge expense and a lot of paper work to get this car here legally.

Can you imagine the attention you would get from import owners and car lovers a like?

I had a ride in the one in Vancouver around 2002. Blue R34 GTR with full Cwest kit, 19" Advan Model 5 in bronze. Motrexed car owned by an owner of Garage SPL in Seattle. The car is now Do Luck sponsored and tours the show scene in the US.

Riding down Robson on a Saturday it turned heads like crazy.
