It's insane how vivid the memories are that these shoes bring up....I am 5 years out of high school now; but I can remember EXACT games from back in high school that I wore specific shoes....It's the strangest feeling....Fuck, I miss those days....I still play basketball competitively right now, but nothing will ever compare to ball in high school....nothing.

ballguy, solid shoe lists man, i could tell you were ballin hard in early 2000's lol, most of those shoes i remember from that time... and dude I dont know how you ball in those shox, i could never play ball in them the shox felt too awkward when making lateral cuts..

i actually rolled my ankle in some vince carter shox one time pretty bad, ever since then only been usin them for walking

air pippens were sick man, they kinda look like the penny's i think that's what makes them great, and the penny's are an all time classic

pastarocket if you're a quick guard you will like the Kobe's, some of the better performing ball shoes out there right now and last little while....
i was gonna grab the same Kobe's myself, but not enough support for me i got ankle issues... i just put an order in for these new playoff edition Lebrons, can't wait to put them on

The VC's were actually one of the best shoes I ever had....Ankle support was awesome for me due to the zipper and velcro strap, plus they gave me another inch since their were shox all the way from heel to toe. And I'm a guard too and completely rely on my first step + lateral movements. I guess everyone is different though.

Anyone here play in the Cambie league?

If I was buying kicks right now, I'd probably cop the CP3 V's....

The Zoom Kobe IV made it acceptable for players of all positions to start wearing low-tops...Shoe technology has come a LONG way.

wuuhoo 04-22-2012 01:42 AM

I always wanted a pair of iversons when i was young haha.

Had the vc shox too, now I have the kobe IV.

I should pull them out and get back to bball :p

TRDood 04-22-2012 03:09 AM

Anyone remember these Kobes? Probably the ugliest shoes I have purchased.

My all time favourites Jordan 13. In grade 7 I wore different colours on each foot. It was cool back then. Haha

G-spec 04-22-2012 01:06 PM

ballguy you playin at Cambie right now ? who you runnin with, and how is the rest of the field competition wise ? still good ?
I played one season in there about 2 years ago when they had the SFU and UBC men's team running in it, it was a damn good run. But I been playing at Kings league downtown in King George the last few years on and off, it's a real good hard run when you playin the top 5 teams so I keep coming back to Kings almost every year.
I still wanna try out Metro League at the Oval they supposed to be pretty competitive too, have you checked them out ?
These three leagues are supposed to be the best runs in town, there's a few other ones not as well known that are decent too, like Guildford Men's league out in Surrey, and also right by Langara the YMCA there actually had a really good league few years back, I played a season like 5 somethin years ago it was real good, don't know how it is now.

Actually we had a few years on my homecourt of Champlain Rec between like 2006-2008/9 where we ran some really good teams, but shit fell apart cuz the gym was tiny and cramped, perfect for 4 on 4, but 5's was too much, I think I posted a video or two of me playing there few pages back

trdood dude when I first saw those Kobes the pearl satin white color I fell in love with right away, it was actually the first inspiration to paint my car the same color, lol

was just checkin up on my daily nba blogs and came across this, holy fack didn't even know, how the hell does he shoot with this hand!?!?

Green was in the sixth grade when a freak accident left him with half of his ring finger. Wearing his mother’s class ring, the 2007 NBA Slam Dunk champion tried to jam on a makeshift hoop attached to a doorway. The ring caught on a nail and his finger was ripped to the bone.

Amputation was the only option.

“All you saw was nothing but white bone, like a skeleton,” Green said. “They said my tendons, all my ligaments were ripped out.”

MWP's play was a cheap shot no others way to argue with but people are so ready to undermine what he has done since The Palace incident just because of one play?

All I see is a guy got caught up in emotion, made a dangerous play and should be punished for it. To say he's back to his own self is plain ignorant.

Nlkko 04-22-2012 02:04 PM

This game reminds me why I love the NBA. :)

TRDood 04-22-2012 02:10 PM

That elbow was digusting. Worse than Weber's WWE and Keith's elbow to Daniel.

I am a fan of MWP too :okay:

Lakers got a break though. No confirmation on the Sepalocha out of bounds call.

wuuhoo 04-22-2012 02:32 PM

^whatever the call was, the ref was right infront of it. So i hope he made the right call

Hill + ebanks stepping up well :D

Not really racist! 04-22-2012 02:48 PM

That's why Kobe is the clutchest player in the NBA right now.
Play like shit until the last couple mins of the fourth and then take over.

And damn, great play by Ebanks and Hill... that was Hill's moment.. I think he deserves to be used in the rotation now and two key key steals by Ebanks and had to guard Durant... but uh, no comment about this

http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/10...bow_medium.gif

edit: heres two of the many clutch shots kobe made, in ot and the 4th

!

Nlkko 04-22-2012 04:23 PM

Kobe was as cool as a cucumber after hitting those. He's simply in a different league of greatness.
