Haliburton blew his Achilles early on in the first quarter, but amazingly the Pacers go into halftime with a lead This makes for a really compelling game. Will be interesting to see if OKC can adjust |
Quote:
OKC is shooting better in the second half with their three point shots. SGA is doing his thing and attacking the basket. The Thunder defence is stepping up big j. The third quarter. Siakam, Spicy P, will have to carry the Pacers on his back in order for a chance to win this game. TJ McConnell is also stepping up his game. Scored last 12 points for the Pacers in the third quarter. Indiana needs to pass the ball more to look for the open shot. Mathurin and Poppin could play better by making open shots. Thunder defence is much Better in game 7 though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
GG OKC, the last 10 minutes of the game is party time Literally nobody other than TJ is scoring for the Pacers |
The Official NBA thread Congrats to the OKC Thunder. The best team in the regular season. Winning their first NBA Championship! Their League MVP and Finals MVP Shai Gilegous-Alexander. A superstar Canadian player in SGA! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
This team did what Harden, KD, and Russell couldn't :lol |
The better team won. |
In the other league ... Canadian Shai Gilgeous-Alexander got a great July 1st ... and a bag of gold. $285M for 4 yrs !! That's $71.4M / yr ... wow! |

The league MVP and Finals MVP got paid MVP money. Good for SGA. He got the biggest bag. LUL OKC has a chance to be a championship dynasty team for the next few years. -young team with no big egos in their star players. Their star players besides SGA, players like J Dub (Jaylen Williams), and Chet Holmgren are also in talks for contract extensions. |
CP3 is going back to the Clippers! Chris Paul is joining the Los Angeles Clippers, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Monday. Drafted fourth in the 2005 NBA draft, Paul begins his 21st season back in Los Angeles alongside veterans Kawhi Leonard, James Harden and recently acquired Bradley Beal. 40 year old Chris Paul played for the Clippers from 2011-2017. The future Hall of Famer played some of his best seasons during his time with the Clippers from 2011-17. Paul was named an all-star in five consecutive seasons and made all-defence first team six times Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Man the Clippers are old as hell now. |

More news from the Clippers: https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2a1379cba1.jpg Background story about the owner trying to circumvent the league salary cap by paying Kawhi money through a shell company: The NBA has launched an investigation into the Los Angeles Clippers amid allegations that a $28 million endorsement deal tied to star player Kawhi Leonard was used to skirt salary cap rules. It stems from a March 2025 bankruptcy filing of Aspiration, a now-bankrupt sustainability company that received $50 million in funding from Clippers owner Steve Ballmer. According to a bombshell report from investigative journalist Pablo Torre, Leonard signed with Aspiration, but did little to no promotional work in return. League officials are probing whether the agreement amounted to a "no-show" deal designed to funnel money outside of his official contract. The league hired the New York-based law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz to conduct the investigation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
The real scandalous thing is that Kawhi not really even worth it. He was already on a $150M contract for 3 yrs ... plenty for his production and he's fragile, need load mgmt. He won the championship once and is still getting paid for it. |
Kawhi is totally not worth it, no personality, barely plays. What a stupid move by the Clippers. |
Kawhi is the very definition of load management haha. When Klaw is "healthy", he can help a team be a legitimate championship contender. Kawhi was the Finals MVP when the Spurs beat Lebron's Miami Heat. Then he won his second chip when he played for the Raptors in the 2018-2019 season. Kawhi's game winning shot against Philly in game 7 of the 2019 NBA playoffs is so memorable. His shot is arguably one of the most clutch shots in NBA playoff history. What a dagger! Clutch Klaw at his best. |
That's an eternity ago, he's not the same player whatsoever. |
looking at it, it's low key best case scenario for the clippers to have the contract voided. They get rid of him and save a bunch of money. It's a low price to pay in terms of the punishment for a big gain to get rid of him. |
Clippers can use the cap space from a void contract of Kawhi to sign better and younger players. This team has a core of uncles now. James Harden, Kawhi, and Chris Paul. Bradley Beal is a bit younger than those guys at age 32. Clippers are far from being a championship contender with or without Kawhi playing games. |
Seems like a voiding the contract would actually be a hookup for the Clippers. There must be more of a penalty than that. |
Quote:
Clippers may need to forfeit multiple first round picks as punishment from the league? Perhaps the league after a detailed investigation forces Kawhi to give back all the money that he got under the table from the owner? |
They better make them lose some picks to make it actually hurt. If they just void Kawhi's contract they basically get to walk away from the old greedy fucker and use the cap space to pickup some younger talent. As you said any financial penalties are like a fart in the wind for Ballmer, they need to lose actual picks. |
