BrawnF1 locks down the first row. Very good job indeed!

It's over for everyone else unless they win the appeal.

I havent follow F1 news for the last few months, but how does this Brawn team(former Honda) turn suddenly from an unprepare, low budget team to take the first row in such a short time?

1) They wrote off the 2008 season early on and developed the 2009 season car once the 2009 regulations first came out.
2) They got Ross Brawn, who got turned down by Ferrari to be the team principal in 2008; remember, this guy is one of the main people responsible to turn Ferrari around in the mid 90s. (imo, big mistake on Ferrari's part)
3) Innovative interpretation of the 2009 regulation on aerodynamics, they got an diffuser which creates more downforce than other teams (other than the other 2 teams who interpreted the regulations the same way)
4) They got the lowest-hanging nose allowed by the regulations (it's also very wide compared to other teams.) See pic of the nose to see how it dips down:

Many people are saying that it contributes to BrawnGP's dominance in testing...

Just imagine if they debut their cars earlier and got more testing time! I wouldn't be surprised if they dominate this season... Quite frankly, I am happy for Jenson Button.

Honda shouldn't have pulled out, just imagine the publicity they would get! Afterall, they are still paying the bills for the 2009 season... at the same time, I am glad that BrawnGP got the Mercedes which is really reliable.

Button was quoted as saying the Honda car last year had no newly developed components after Germany last year. Germany was the 10th race of 18, it was run on July 20th. That means an extra 4 months of complete concentration on the 2009 car over teams like McLaren and Ferrari who were entrenched in the 08 championship.

Loaded up my PVR today to watch last nights qualifying. I recorded Speed channel and I got nothing!

Not happy at all about TSN asking Speed to blackout race coverage in Canada.

TSN always had better race coverage, but Speed by far has better pre-race and qualifying coverage. Not to mention that Speed always covered 100% of the race (including pre and post) and never cut things short because of curling or something stupid.

At first I thought something was wrong with the Speed HD channel.

I was ready to call shaw and bitch at them, since I got my HDPVR connected on thursday for the sole reason of watching F1 in HD.

I agree 100%

TSN stops F1 RIGHT ON THE DOT, which is stupid...even if the interviews are coming up, they stop it for some bullshit program(IE: Sportscenter or Curling)

I like TSN's commentary(or the original one) better then SPEED's and also TSN is faster(this season) by like 10-15minutes.

Last Season, I usually switch channels if the channels go on a commercial-break cause SPEED was only 10 seconds behind haha

I stopped watching F1 because of all the annoying politics.. it was like the races didn't matter, because there would be bitching after every one.

This season is no different, as Brawn's amazing performance will either make them one of the best stories in sports history, or will completely ruin their season, all depending on how the hearing goes.

If they rule against them, I think I'll give up on F1 forever.

HOLY FUCK

That was one of the most EPIC races I've seen! DAMN CRAZY!!

The end was WOW...but I feel really bad for Kubica and Vettel since they're my favorite drivers(+ Raikkonen and Button for making me some good $$$)

Especially Vettel He thinks it's his fault, apologizing to the team right after the stint...GAYYY

I am very happy with the new season! Great stuff! Yes, "Virgin" is currently the main sponsor of "Brawn GP", but I'm sure many others will plaster their company logos on Brawn's car. I'm glad J.Button got his win, he deserves it.
