did anyone notice during the award ceremonies, Jenson Button or Rubens barely acknowledged J. Trulli? I bet there is no love loss between Brawn (aka Honda) and Toyota.

I am getting used to the cars look now, but this is going to an awesome season......

BrawnGP winning in Australia > LA Clippers winning a NBA title

Maybe he was channelling Villenueve's spirit, recalling the 1979 Dutch GP when Villenueve's tyre came off and he was lapping the track at 160mph on 3 wheels. Nice try, Vettel.

so now both cars are front wingless and bolting down the straight section that follows, only to end in disaster for both.

kubica hits the wall pretty hard and loses both left side wheels (seen rolling down the course, haha) and vettel rubs up against the wall as well, losing his front left wheel. he then attempts to continue driving with 3 wheels and one dangling under the front end, hahaha

How was Vettel wrong in this situation? They were both going in to corner side by side...Kubica should of conceded the spot and give Vettel some room.

Ludepower, did you watch the race? (not an insult)

Vettel's tires were shit, and Vettel knew that they were shit. Vettel braked too late for the corner. Kubica has him and is already on the outside of the line. Vettel understeers out and hits Kubica. It may not be a 10 place penalty, but it is Vettel's fault.

Catch 22, Vettel's tires were shit, so Kubica would have known not to get into such a compromising position. He could have overtook Vettel on the next corner or the straight away right after that corner.

Other side: Kubica had no choice, he had to pass Vettel ASAP cause he was actually catching Button. Button was on the bad tires(Super Softs). Vettel should have let Kubica pass and take 3rd place thought.

You got to add the fact that, Vettel took all responsibility and apologized before any ruling was done. That was probably why the FIA decided it was 100% Vettel's fault and not Kubica's. Pretty sure if Vettel didn't apologize then FIA would have let it go to be honest.. Also it's a racing incident..doesn't require a 10th place grid drop..IMO

Naw I fell asleep nearing the end. So I dunno know the series of events...just judging this clip only.

We see this all the time...cars holding up another... doesn't mean they can have a free pass...Vettel dayum right is going to defend it tooth and nail. It was an unsafe pass...Vettel did not overbrake...they went in the corner at the same time.

Re-watch the video...how come Im not seeing what you describe in the incident?

Check out this video before F1 management removes it. Check it out at 1:45:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvwBse4kzgg

You're absolutely right that Vettel can/should defend his position. But the overhead video is more telling than the in-car. I was wrong - Vettel does brake in time for the corner (I didn't see this correctly on the in-car), but he actually hits Kubica on corner exit.

Kubica has a quarter car on Vettel at entry and half a car at the apex. Kubica has position at the apex. Vettel spears Kubica on the way out of the corner, when he should have held off on the throttle.

After reviewing the overhead, I am more sure that it was Vettel's fault. Granted, Kubica could have chosen a better spot to pass.

If Vettel did not understeer the collision would not have happened.

You're right about the overhead and the in-car view...dayum what a big difference...the overhead has Kubica 3 quarters ahead and the in car has Kubica and Vettel side by side. Anyways both drivers were wrong more on Kubica part for the unsafe pass. It was a racing incident..nothing intentional...Vettel should not be peanilzed thats all.

Should have been a racing incident... Kubica didn't leave enough room for Vettel to turn. When you force another car to go on the curb like that... it's bound to happen.

Wow, they threw out McLaren's results after determining that they basically lied to get Trulli thrown out.

This is the exact same bullshit that made me stop watching F1 before. Why can't it just be about racing. All these lies and deceptions, whining and fingerpointing, all the way down to espionage. Just takes away from the sport, and even detracts from the drama and entertainment of other stories that occur.

Because Lewis did that before... and caused Vettel and Webber to crash while going like 15km/h behind a safety car, drivers have to pick whether they can pass or they have to stay behind and Lewis just baited them into making that mistake.

exactly! Ferrari under-estimate other cars. They have to get over the domination over the past few seasons. It's a totally new game in Formula 1 now.
