On another note, at the scene of the accident the other driver admitted that it was 100% his fault, I'm assuming this is something i could use to tell icbc?

his fault 100% , A-pillar damage does not warrant a write-off... i had my brand new lancer vandalized and the a-pillars where damaged severely and icbc just puts new ones in .. as safe as that sounds. but by the looks of the pictures and what you said i believe your vehicle will be a total loss.

some chassis pulling, 1 fender 1 door 1 door harness should be all it takes to fix that...My accident was very very similar to yours except I was crusing through an intersection:

That's $6100 in damage as per ICBC.

unless wheels are hit and suspension is out of shape too. Does your car still go straight after the accident?

it will most likely 100% the NISSANS fault... left turners are always at fault unless some EXTREME circumstances... and if there was a solid line between the oncoming, that indicates that the nissan did an illegal turn :O as for car damage... it may be a write off unfortunately

A-pillar damage on "brand new Lancer" =/= A-pillar damage on old Integra.

oo used/jobber parts galore.

fender - replace jobber
overhaul front bumper cover + refinish
inner apron - repair + refinish inner
a pillar - repair + refinish inner
used door or oem door skin -r & i + refinish
door hinges - replace
replace left front inner liner
replace front harness
front wheel alignment, which would determine if any control arms or steering tie rods needs replacement.
abs sensor - check and replace if necessary

..possibly more..

I'd say a write-off but don't quote me on that.

http://www.buysell.com/root/detail/B...996_Acura.aspx

something similar just to get an idea. If damage looks more than $2500 there is a good chance it will be written off. Well, once the estimator puts it all into his Penpro the total loss warning chime will probably go off.

Umm... no. Sorry, but you're wrong.

Even if it were a double yellow line, you can still turn left across it to enter or exit a highway (read: road).

Nothing illegal. Stupid, yes... turning left across traffic is never a good idea. It's easier on everyone, and usually faster, to do three right turns instead.

100% the mother fucker's fault. I t bone someone few years back, i was going staight and she was turning left i t bone her on the driver side.

my adjuster basically told me left turn is almost always at fault, even if the car going staight had his light off, ran a light or was speeding. its the left turner's responsibilty to make sure everything is clear before making the turn.

correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't it also illegal to pass on the right? if you were behind that back up of cars where you made a yellow dotted line, and you pass them to go straight on the right lane, that would constitute as passing on the right.

some guy at work was in an accident and the other person basically went into oncoming traffic to turn left and the guy i work with went into the right lane to pass backed up cars and had a collision, and ICBC said the other person is not 100% at fault b/c he passed on the right which is appearantly illegal.

you are allowed to pass on the right when overtaking a left turning vehicle
