Revscener and from Vancouver guy response from DUBAI:
This is the biggest bull shit article ever published. Yes some parts about the labourers are true, but that is life and every Country has slavory, beside they are all happy here and they make 3x more than they would make in India.
They live in so called Labour camps out of the city, or some certain zones in Dubai it self, they have swimming pools, gym, and soccer and other ammenities, I have sold few labour camp and trust me they are not what this dumb ass motherfucker has said. And trust me I went to India on a short trip a few months ago and even with the lifestyle they have in Dubai, it is still 10x better than back in India.
And the lady with the husband in jail, maybe you shouldn't fucking buy things you can afford, simple saying in life. Nothing to do with how Dubai is or does. I am actually quite happy with the if you owe money you go to jail, works VERY well trust me, you call police and with in 30 minutes the person is in jail, and if the amount that he owes is more than DHS 50,000, he can not be bailed out of jail.
Dubai is one of the safest cities in the world, I have been here for a year and half now and this whole time I have seen maybe 2 crimes. No drugs, no fights, no cocky lil gangsters, no ass hole cops standing around with there fucking radar cameras or handing out V.I's. Even cops here drive crazy and speed, you would all love the roads here, all brand new. Life style is cheap, for you smokers packs of smokes is around 2$, 98 octane gas is about 1.70$ per galon, cars are cheap, going out is cheap, also the biggest Aquafina water bottle there is is about 25 cents, did I also mention NO tax?? The thing with Dubai is there is either low class or high class, nothing in the middle.
Dubai is actually about to pass a law that any news paper company that tries to critisize it will get fined 1.2 Mil, too much jealousy in this world.
Also I've never ever seen this so called nasty beach and I have been to all the beachs in Dubai.
P.S if I spelled anything wrong or didn't use the right grammer than who gives a fuck, I wrote this in 2 minutes.
Article from Dubai newspaper response to this fuck head. http://www.thenational.ae/article/20...893397609/1299

I'll check checking back this thread. | Wow, good job being level-headed and objectve. Way to negate to your credibility. You're response is just as bad as the journalist you criticize.
Nonetheless, any level headed person wouldn't come to the conclusion that Dubai is a shithole of a city. If anything, all I took from that article was that with progress and grandeur, all comes at a cost; like many of the human made wonders built through time.

Yes dont believe everything the media says...create your own thread and preach that...in this thread...why dont you explain what Dubai has going for them besides the oil revenue that runs the city. | Whoa whoa whoa, back the fuck up Prudepower, I didn't say I disagreed with everything the article says, just that people who take an opinion piece as hard fact are idiots. Don't go all JasonS2000 on me and back your arguments up with your library of youtube videos.
p.s. If you'd actually READ the article, you'd realize that Dubai wasn't built on oil revenue, Moron.

Revscener and from Vancouver guy response from DUBAI:
thinking i will get to see a well written response from the other side of the argument.
after reading that i'm thinking if dubai is going to be in deep trouble if all the high class acts like spoon. pretty soon the low class will revolt.

Whoa, this is the internet.. not a class essay. People can make good pts without making it "well written" LOL as long as you actually wanna hear what they have to say.
Haven't read the article, but ppl who have roots in the area tell me it's like us taking a trip to Vegas (minus the gambling, of course).. but bigger and better and surprisingly cheaper too.

How you articulate your arguments very well determines the credibility within your statements. No matter the validity of your POV, you won't get very far should you talk and type like a 13 yr old pre-pubescent girl.
Take heed. This is not an RS Lesson. This is a Life lesson for you and others who think otherwise.

Yes.. representation is key..
BUT
the strength of your argument lays within the validity of your statements. Not so much as the general structure of your statement. You can have a well articulated argument that has no real definitive facts. As long as the argument sounds reasonable, uninformed people may just nod their heads. But someone who knows what they are talking about may hand your ass to you on a silver platter. You wont sound so fancy after that i promise you.
Does anyone here really know whats going on in Dubai besides from what they read?
Someone who is generally interested in finding out whats true, weather or not they agree with what they would like to personally be true, is in a position to give an intellectual honest assessment of whats supported, not supported, and refuted by evidence.
But
Those who are more interested in confirming their own beliefs, then uncovering facts that might challenge those beliefs are in no position to give objective opinions. This is due to the fact that they cannot work through the filter of personal bias.
But this IS a forum where people are free to give their own opinion on any matter. Weather it be subject or objective opinions.. you have to let that person speak their mind.. no matter how demonstrably wrong their opinion may sound to you..

You have no idea the capabilities of a "well-articulated-statement" can yield. It will trump more validated arguments conveyed in an inadequate manner.
If Spoon-EG has a point, he wasn't able to get it across as well as he did his displeasure; the latter being about ALL he accomplished.

Well, it's sad but true. In order to have rich ppl, there must be a lot more poor ppl. That's the way our world works
