cops shot and almost killed my gf's dog.... cops went to my gf's house for some reason. knocked on her door by the time she got to the door they already went to the back yard which is fenced and has a sign that says beware of dog. she had just let the dog out of the house and realized that they are about to go to the back. she runs through the house and by the time she gets to the back the cop shoots the dog in the face and breaks his jaw, cuts his touge and goes through his neck. dog is laying in a pool of blood and no one knows what the emergency was that caused them to rush to the back  how fucked up are the cops these days. they came and took some pictures and then started bad mouthing the dog that he was about to bite and was barking. i don't believe it the dog is really tame and doesn't really run towards anyone (he is also neutered). he was shot right beside his house which was in the back the cop had to walk along the side of the house to get to this point see the dog by his house and shoot him within the time it takes someone to open the front door realize the person has gone to the back run to the back and the dog is already shot. Think about how quick that is...i'm shocked...the dog is about 9 months old. the dog is in an animal hospital right now. went through surgery for a few hours. they say he will survive which is good news. at first they said he wouldn't because they thought he lost too much blood. |
i am interested to know why the police showed up.. thats kind of an important part of the story. dont know about you but its typically not standard opperating proceedure to just show up at houses and go around back with guns drawn to kill dogs. some more info please. |
Sorry to hear that. Did they disclose WHY they went to your gf's house at all? Any explanation of trespassing? this is quite puzzling. |
one too many Lambo's parked out front? :p i joke, good to hear dog is going to be ok |
The dog's a pit bull right? |
sorry to hear such an incident. that happened to my house, one of the tenants was a suspect in a kidnapping case in richmond and the cops busted the front door, thru my back gate and back door, but managed to pin down and leash my dog who was on the yard. the question was what kind of cops were they? the ones that did break thru were special unit, not the normal cops. anyways, what was the cop's intentions when they knocked on her door? and if the cop opens her door they should be liable for their own safety (if the sign is visible) hope the dog is ok. |
there was some incident involving her brother which they needed to ask him questions about it was related to some assault on someone else. there was no need to have weapons drawn although she did take an extra minute or two opening the door because she was upstairs and had to come downstairs and at first she didn't hear the knocks. |
wtf? cut the dog's tongue?? I don't get it. |
poor dog =/ |
Bullet probably went through the dog's jaw and tongue. OMG that's gotta hurt!!!! |
report it to the paper and CTV right awat. Only way to get this dealt with rather then the same old BS they give over and over |
this is fucked up ... cops really need to know wen the fuck to pull out their guns .. all cops here and in the US do is police brutality .. fucking power whores... u should really sue those cops pants off .. can they be charged with trespassing ? |
stop bitching on the internet and find a real lawyer tell us how it ends up. |
I'm sure the dog is now fucked up mentally, he might as well be dead. |
I would definitely take legal actions. I'm sure the medical bill for the dog wont be cheap either. |
good to hear the dogs ok but i dont think there is any grounds for legal action because cops can just say that the dog ran at them and they feared for their life. No witness that saw anything cops are gonna stick with cops story. And if they were already there to talk to someone in the house it is not a case of trespassing. But hope everything turns out alright |

Call the news ASAP... but be prepared for the "spin" of the old "known to police" bullshit. If they didn't have a warrant they have NO right to go into her yard. Berz out. |
i feel bad for the doggy....when has there ever been anything about the police doing something nice =.=.. |
ya they need a warrant to enter your house/property... and tell 24 or CTV or vancouver sun ASAP hope the dog gets better btw |
sue them..not just for money but at least to get a chunk out of the police and to buy more toys for the doggy in the future!! |
