Police should have entered the rally and arrested random people. You can't get them all, but you can get some. Make an example out of them by throwing them in jail, fining them... We don't need losers like that. | Good one #2!!

I feel sad for people that smoke weed actually. If your life is shitty enough that you need drugs to escape reality then you have bigger problems than smoking an illicit substance. | Quote:

Firstly, the art gallery is a International Zone of Protest, meaning that ppl can do what ever they want without be hassled. With in reason (No murder, robbery, rape, lynching etc). Correct me if i am wrong. Quote:

^ If ethier of you have drank booze, your both hypocrites. I understand that Marijuana is illegal, but you are legally allowed to have a couple plants and/or anything less that 1 ounce. (Again correct me if I am wrong)
People like you 2 are the ones that are holding up legalization. Nothing that grows in the ground naturally should not be illegal.

Also, possession is still possession, no matter how little the amount. Cops here just don't bother hasseling you unless your intent is to traffic or if you have a big ass sack.

and i believe that the only reason why 4/20 is held at the art gallery is because what police force can take down 5000 people? you mess with one you mess with all of them... there are only 4000 police officers in the BC police force (correct me if i'm wrong) plus it's not like we harm anyone while smoking up or vandalise anything (that i was aware of)

I wasn't saying it is wrong to smoke pot, do what you want to do in life. I was just saying it reflects poorly on the VPD that so many people gather to celebrate something illegal and that it shows how futile their attempts to fight the drug trade are.

To the anti-marijuana posters above, the idiots your thinking about are pot heads. Some people do it in recreation, less often than you might have a beer at a bar on a friday night. Yet, your ignorant assumption integrates the two types of pot smokers (often and seldom) into 1 huge generalization that all pot smokers are pot heads. Bravo, you've done well. If you drink, you're a hypocrite, probably lost a few too many brain cells in the process: Blame it on the a-a-a-aa-a-alcohol
I'm not stepping up for the unemployed pot heads that do shit all day, milk EI, and watch their lives slowly pass by. I'm stepping up for the professionals and people who have their shit together, anybody doing well that knows how to have fun, anybody that knows the difference between moderation and addiction.

Posession of marijuana is illegal. It was banned in Canada back in the 1920's under the Opium and Drug Act and nothing has changed. If a substance is illegal and a person is using it, that person is breaking the law. Anybody who breaks the law is considered a criminal; therefore your statement is incorrect. All stoners ARE criminals. Maybe not in the sense that they'll break into cars to steal money, but they are still breaking the law.
Looks like you're the one who needs the education.Dumbass.

Except maybe if you were in Beijing during the 2008 Olympics and you wanted to protest you could supposedly do it in certain areas located outside of the city. I guess that's close enough.
This is Canada. You can protest whatever you want, wherever you want. Quote:

It is legal to carry a certain amount of weed. Quote:
Judge Makes B.C. History With Pot Ruling
Tuesday, September 16, 2003
from Province, The (CN BC)
by Andy Ivens
Simple possession of marijuana is no longer illegal in B.C., a provincial court judge has ruled.
The decision by Judge Patrick Chen in the Crown's case against Kurtis Lee Masse makes B.C. the fourth province, along with Ontario, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, in which the law has been struck down.
Courts in Alberta and Saskatchewan have ruled the other way.
The confusion around the state of the law arose after an Ontario Appeal Court judge struck down the law in July 2000 and gave Parliament one year to pass a new one.
That has yet to happen.
Three high-profile possession cases have been appealed to the Supreme Court of Canada. Once the high court makes its ruling, that will be the law of the land.
But for now, any judge of the B.C. provincial court would be bound by Chen's decision, Masse's lawyer Troy Anderson said yesterday.
"I've been receiving e-mails throughout the day from people who are pretty happy with this decision," he added. "It's potentially a very important case.
Anderson stressed the ruling does not affect the law against possession for the purposes of trafficking or other more serious crimes -- just simple possession.
"This is a great victory for advocates of freedom and personal responsibility," said Kirk Tousaw, policy director of the B.C. Civil Liberties Association. "Prohibiting cannabis possession is irrational. It's a relatively harmless plant..."
Chen's Sept. 4 ruling, released yesterday, is not binding on B.C. Supreme Court judges. If the Crown appealed Chen's ruling, a Supreme Court judge could overturn his decision.
