For my generation, this doesnt surprise me. Whether I agree with it or not is another thing. But my elderly aunt, who rarely goes downtown on her own, got caught down there and was terrified. She was confronted by numerous idiots as she tried to get the heck out of there on public transit. THAT made me angry.

Democracy = mob rule
If 99% of the population liked something and demanded it legal, it would be made so. This is a fact.
Marijuana has a growing userbase and more and more people support legalization. Just a matter of time.

And I jsut want to get one thing clear. I don't hate people who smoke marijuana. I think it's a stupid thing to do and if they do it in the privacy of their own homes that's fine. I am against legalizing it because it is a drug and I'm anti drugs. Also MJ smells really bad. Imagine walking down the street and smelling it as often as you smell cigarettes... disgusting.
Anyway, if you smoke it I don't hate you. Just wanted to get that point across.

I'd rather smoke weed then get drunk. Smoking weed DOES NOT kill brain cells. Drinking alcohol DOES kill brain cells.

honestly, reading and hearing all the corruption in the gov't leaves me to think pot smokers really arent that bad.
legalized pot:
- cigarette branded pot for sale, regulated
- GDP of munchie goods goes way up!
- pot exceeds any other exported natural resource
- ppl will be more chill
- gov't tax on it will mean more revenue generated

If you put us two in a room together and a bunch of liquor, there could be problems between us
If you put us two in a room together, a giant bong, some good kush, and an Xbox 360, I bet we'd be laughing and hanging out just fine
Alcohol, to me, is really only good for when I want to dance, and for having with a good meal. Getting drunk has very little appeal UNLESS it's drinking wild turkey and listening to country music or watching "Unforgiven". Quote:

I agree, nearly anything should be legal behind your closed doors. Nearly. Quote:
I am against legalizing it because it is a drug and I'm anti drugs.
| Why? Drugs can expand your mind. Drugs are a very good thing for humanity. Almost all of us ingest some form of drug or another per day.
Drug abuse is horrible, I agree, but drug use itself is beneficial in most cases. Quote:

It's the parents that are at fault.
Same thing when a 14 year old gets pregnant. Completely the parent's fault. Quote:

What about those that self-medicate?
I have always had, since I was a little kid, some aniexty problems where I can't slow my mind down. I will get a bad thought inside my dome and then it just ruins my day because I can't relax and get that thought/idea out of my head. I refuse to use any SSRI drugs because of the fact that I have already cured my migraine headaches through the use of an Ionizer to stabilize my serotonin production, and I don't want to fuck with the balance of brain chemicals.
I keep a bit of weed around my place for two reasons:
1. When I get anxious and it affects my day, I will smoke a little weed and I relax enough that my brain can put the "brakes" on the bad thought, and I can go on with my day. I think it has to do with my ADHD type of brain. My brain is like 1000 TV channels playing at once, and sometimes too many of the channels are negative and bring me down. If I have a couple puffs my mind is able to change the channel, so-to-speak, and I can better focus on what's causing the negative thought rather than focus on the negativity itself.
2. When I want to play video games, like Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Athena, smoking a joint, cranking up the 5.1 sound, all the lights off, SLI'ed video cards on a 37" 1080p screen = INTENSE IMMERSION!
Keep in mind that they give our prozac and paxil like candy to people who should never be on such a powerful and mind-altering drug. Marijuana is far, far, far, far, FAR less powerful and dangerous than prozac or paxil. Try reading up on effexor and learn about how some people can't ever quit that drug because of the "brain zaps" they suffer when trying to get off of it. People report a painful sensation of electrical shocks inside their brains. Some claim these shocks NEVER GO AWAY!
I used to be like you when I was younger, which is why I never did drugs until I was 23. I am almost 31 now and I have experimented with a ton of drugs. I have only once had a bad experience and that was because I was high on e and sent a girl a 3 page love letter via text message at 6 am on a Sunday. LAME. Haha!

lol, this thread became a debate. anyways, what time would you have to be at the art gallery to get on the stairs? literally 12 am on 4/20?
also, did any of you guys attend? left and right there was a lot of hot girls, and the ideas of them being stoned. oh man.
marijuana should just be legalized, everything is just better with weed in your system. a cheeseburger is fucking delicious, work becomes interesting lol, and don't get me started on sex, omfg.

I like my women a little bit higher class, than to be hanging out with a bunch of people looking like medieval court jesters in Affliction, Ed Hardy, and other clownish looking brands.

I love the smell of marijuana, but not the smoke so much. Better than cigarettes at least, 2nd hand smoke gives me headaches.
