I can't even find a website for Vancouver Motorcars. Are they supposed to be an exotic car dealer?

Re-opening on Boundary by Benz and Autohaus, I think they're under a new name though, so probably vancouver motorcars.

Not sure on details, didn't see a site either

Nah thats definitely hers. She has picked her daughter up from my school a number of times in that 599 GTO. They also own that livery 599 GTO aswell.

egzonsh7 02-23-2014 09:19 PM

That 599 gto is Reikos, one of my friends posted a vid on instagram at the opening of that new dealership, inside of the car it had Reikos daughters name..

Jgresch 02-23-2014 09:50 PM

The car is her ex-husbands. She owns the white one. He owns the red one.

^ part of me thinks it is really kool, people drive their exotics in the snow, but part of me thinks people are idiots driving their exotics in the snow with summer tires.....I wonder if ICBC would decline their insurance if you get into an accident with summer tires in the snow.....I hope so.....

boostfever 02-25-2014 10:09 AM

moving the car from the showroom 20 meters into the parking lot for a pic then back in showroom is definitely considered "driving".

westopher 02-25-2014 10:31 AM

Well, the photo didn't come with a video of how the car got there. I saw plenty of cars not prepared for the snow out driving in it, theres nothing that tells us otherwise that this wasn't one of them until someone who knows that chimes in.

white rocket 02-25-2014 10:50 AM

I wonder if the rape camo Lambo has snow tires? I saw it motoring through my neighborhood on Sunday night in the snow.

Probably not the best assumption that everyone knows exactly which lot that is and which cars are usually in their showroom..

Snow tires are not mandatory in the GVRD therefore ICBC can't deny them coverage if they get into an accident on summer tires.

On a more enjoyable note though.

Higher end 9-5 is like this a bit better but you have to remember they were owned by GM at this point so there's mixed parts for sure.

They were 50% owned by Gm since 1989. The 900's were free of GM influence until 1994, and the last real Saab was the 1997 9000. After that the cars are rebodied Opels/Vauxhalls with standard GM bin parts. In the 9-5's GM even took the previously bullet proof B series motors and "lightened" the internals (replaced with cheaper parts), got optimistic with the HP ratings (b234's made basically the same, but Saab listed the minimum hp they'd make under hot/heat-soaked conditions) leading to recalls and reliability problems.

TLDR; pre GM cars were already subject to sometimes questionable reliability but at least they had great motors, post GM influence do not touch with a 10 foot pole.

ICBC | ICBC responds to questions about winter tires and insurance

Quote:

Winter tires are not mandatory in B.C. but ICBC recommends their use in snowy conditions, particularly if you live in an area where you would normally expect a lot of snow. In snowy conditions, driving without proper winter tires may not be the wisest or safest decision, but it does not affect a customer’s insurance coverage or eligibility to make a claim.
However-

Quote:

Driving without winter tires will not void your insurance in the event of a claim or mean that you are automatically at-fault for a crash. If you get in a crash where winter tires could have helped, it may be a deciding factor in determining whether or how much you are at-fault.

I've been to their showroom before and I can confirm that the photo is taken meters from the shop. The other photos that you see from that photoshoot is just around the corner of the shop.
