those 80's 911s aren't that rare in Vancouver though. Could be a different car.

I perused their FB page and saw this one status:

Not criticizing the lack of English but rather the fact that this place seems more like a clubhouse / museum than a genuine garage. I'll stick with Drivehard Performance (Shameless plug :concentrate:)

Checked out the i8 today and took some snapshots

BMW stores going to have that i8 at their block party. Looks like it's making it's rounds around Vancouver dealers.

I'll admit I haven't seen it, I'm not talking about the paint finish I'm talking about the "electrical" junk with wires everywhere.

Seems like everyone loves it because it was made by the hands of Jesus or something? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Nakai-san facilitates and builds every single one.
Process of it being made:
- Owner talks with Nakai-san (Nakai-san perceives the owner's personality)
- Nakai-san builds the car based on what he feels matches the owner's "personality"
- Name of the car is decided by Nakai-san himself

In that sense, every RWB Porsche is unique and "matches" its owner.

And RWB says that every owner is only allowed one RWB made for them (however, Fatlace has two? One owned by Mark Arcenal, and one for Fatlace itself) so I'm not sure if that holds true anymore.

I got all this from various videos and interviews of RWB posted, so it could all be myths and rumors but if it were all true, I could see the serious appreciation of RWB Porsches.

I do, but it looks like you don't. Patina is the aging effect that normally occurs naturally due to time.

I'm pretty sure random electrical BS doesn't magically appear due to age. And I lol at the concept that any modern car would be functional in any kind of post-apocalypse-type future considering all the overcomplicated bullshit they come with now.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've heard all week.

This is the process :

Owner talk's to RWB JAPAN, (which is answered by one of the owner's of Liberty Walk : They are very good friends)

Orders the kit and the kit is shipped to whereever for prep

Nakai will then come and build the vehicle for you (depending on his schedule)

Name is decided then.

Fatlace has two because one of them was ordered under his wife, (you are only allowed to own one)

"It was rumored at one time that RAUH-Welt built only one car per person, but Nakai quickly dismissed that.

“It's not just one car per person,” he said. “It's OK to build two, three, four or five cars per person. I'll go wherever they need, any place to build for a customer.”"

Apparently, you can own more than one..

"Every customer also spends some personal one-on-one time with Mr Nakai so he can get to know them and have the car mirror the owner’s character. Customer service doesn’t get much better than that…"

Source

"He’s a wizard when it comes to crafting stuff with his bare hands. He’s got no measurement tools – the suspension was set up using cigarette butts and a cigarette packet. He’d stand there in front of the car, put his cigarette packet in the wheel, stand up, push it out 1mm, tighten the bolts, look at it."

Source

Don't believe everything you read on the internet, but :awesom:

Alright, my time is up in taking this thread further off track than it needs to be.

I dunno, I kinda dig it. I like the unconventional build process and the personal emotion that goes along with it. Kind of unique in this day and age.

trollguy 06-05-2014 02:47 PM

i'm skeptical that each RWB car was built based on the personality of the customer? they all look the same to me... must be #becauseasian. well, aside from each silly name it's given- or is that what it only entails?

white rocket 06-05-2014 03:01 PM

yeah, it looks like there are "versions". Earlier builds seem to have some different features like front lip, etc. I hear ya though, they do all look very similar. Still, the fact that it's one guy gives the impression that the experience is quite personal; which it what I like about it.

tofu1413 06-05-2014 03:15 PM

im sure every RWB car has their own "minor" differences and variations.

but they all have the same base idea: a frickin wide ass Porsche 911 :megusta:

DjMZ 06-05-2014 03:39 PM

theres a BMW i8 sitting in the back of auto west bmw if you guys wana take a look, back corner of the parking lot

belaud 06-05-2014 03:49 PM

Owner of the Seattle RWB has 3 RWB cars and counting now, Toshi has 2.

Boostslut 06-05-2014 04:04 PM

So ya, basically hands of GOD himself make the car for you. Is it all hand made? With one of those metal rolling wheels or something? If it's anything like that, its pretty special.

donjalapeno 06-05-2014 05:48 PM

Why does the i3 keep popping up in this thread, its not sick in anyway
