If you're comparing it to a 400K Lambo, yes it doesn't have much appeal.
Don't compare apples to oranges.

i wonder what it will take for this gtr to sell. i remember when it first came this last summer it was advertised in the $70-80k range, and now it's fallen down to something like $55k on craigslist

Considering what you can get in the same price range as a clean R34 GTR (never mind the special editions) they aren't worth it. Don't get me wrong, they're great cars, but for that price you're banking purely on fanboy appeal.

agreed... the prices are insane compared to what the sell for in japan, or even on the other side of canada where r34 gtr's go for $30-40k range (but i don't know what condition they are in just pictures) :(

Its obviously different for everyone, I know some guys in the US who spent in excess of 80K just to have a R34 illegally imported, one guy shelled out nearly 150,000. You live with the constant risk/thought that homeland security will show up and seize the cars. Car will be gone, and youll be slapped with a $27,000 fine

I've always asked WHY? When there's so many options at that price point, and not one of them can answer it with anything other than "I know, don't remind me..."

I'm pretty sure if I had the money I wouldn't think twice about getting a R34 GTR. Except I love R32's more, and finding a clean, unmodified, low mileage R34 GTR for a reasonable price in Japan is pretty much impossible.

Hondaracer 11-14-2014 03:35 PM

Spend 140k on GTR then get absolutely stomped by the guy in the 50k Z06, both on the street and track

Makes sense to me. It's a fan boys car, that's about it

Like the one pictured is a 4X4 with an ABS lip.. Lol

So let's say that one is between 55-70k

Let's see... M3, M5, CLS, S class, Vette, Viper, RS audis,

The price point you are getting almost notbing compared to newer vehicles in the same price range, the GTR's interior is that of a 1995 Chevy pickup.

TouringTeg 11-14-2014 04:11 PM

Agree that the demand is not there to support the high prices. They are older now and there are better cars available for the money people are asking.

I have to say the R34 GTR seats are fantastic.

knight604 11-14-2014 05:53 PM

Pretty sure when you spend 150k on a R34, money is what?

DEADBEA7 11-14-2014 08:46 PM

Got to take out some cars from work to shoot this week :D

Not to mention used (but with on par mileage to a JDM import) Aston Martins, Jags, Porsches, AMG Mercs, the R35 GTR, etc etc etc. I know AutoTrader prices tend to be higher but the amount of stuff that easily trumps a 15 year old Datsun is crazy.

^ I still don't understand why bmw or mercedes doesn't improve their rotors so it doesn't look rusty like that. Looks like pure shit. Even GM has duralife rotors that prevents it from rusting.

Saw our CLA roll off the truck, had 9km on the ODO, still in wraps, had rusted rotors. Fucking Mercedes...lol

jinxcrusader 11-15-2014 09:39 PM

To be honest the red "trim" pieces look cheap. Could do without the red lining

Akinari 11-15-2014 10:47 PM

Saw one of those on the street the other day, the 45 and the standard 250. The car just doesn't look right in any way at all. All the proportions are screwed up, the red trim looks like some time attack wannabe shit, and can we please be honest that spoiler is pretty godawful. It's the bastard child of the CLA and A that got beat by an ugly stick.

Parents just got one of the new B250s, I would much rather have a proper hatchback with correct proportions than this really strange and awkward looking thing, regardless of how fast it goes. If I want the same drivetrain, there's always the much sexier looking CLA45.

LP700-4 11-15-2014 11:38 PM

They might not look right but damn they drive nice. Red trim is only edition one or something so most wont be like that. B250's not even a comparable car, yes its technically a hatchback but its in the compact segment. This is a lot more bigger and spacious all the while its sad they call it a "SUV".

Trust when i say this thing is a beast

Biggest problem is that it's not a Fucking hatxhback. Mercedes calls it's an "ultra compact SUV".

Suck my dick Mercedes, you fucks

Vale46Rossi 11-16-2014 01:22 AM

^ Mercedes gives a great deal about your opinion and will glady suck your dick.

Of course a ?-250 and a ?-45 isn't comparable. But the whole GLA is just awful.

GLA45? No thanks :fuckthatshit:
Since the A/B isn't available in Canada, I'll much rather spend the $ on the CLA45 / C400.
