the only question i have is, will the phone be available through carrier only? or can you buy it at the apple store for the same price?

So the screen is different from the current 3g? It is non fingerprint/oil resistant? does that mean we shouldnt put a screen protector on it? (ie invisible shield)...

I sold my 3G just because it was unstable, a lot of random crashes, freezes... you name it. And if the 3GS improves in this field, then it's a big step up for those who want stability in their devices.
I hear a lot of 3G owners are saying the 3GS doesn't woo them, they sound a little sour about it since there's already a better model on the market =)

I'll buy this one to give it another try, if it still crashes as much as my 3G, then I'm selling it right away.

On Fido, the 6GB/$30 month data plan is available today as long as you currently own an iPhone. When you call in, they will ask for your iPhone IMEI then they can add the data plan to your account.

i think the 3GS will be better than the pre..especially if the new 3.0 firmware is a major update in terms of overall smoothness of functionality

either way, the price of normal 3G's should go down on CL etc. so easy to have a backup now :)

usually the imei should be in the system already for existing iphone customers. the plan is already available, sign up guys!

3 year data and voice contract mandatory. but most reps only remember to set a 3 year contract on data but not voice. so good luck.

Forget it, I don't use anywhere close to 1GB at the moment anyway. I'll just wait until my current contract expires then jump ship to another UMTS carrier unless they offer me a kickass retention plan.

I'm guessing that the 3GS standalone price will be $650/750 CAD.

that sucks, none of the new features are attractive enough to warrant the upgrade price for current 3g owners like me except for this feature, i was hoping the whole phone screen and case will be finger print proof as that has been my biggest pet peeves.

i guess i will save my 399, i can get million anti finger print matte screen protector.

even with a finger-print proof screen, it's still prone to scratching and in the end u'll still end up getting a screen protector for it. so i dont realli see this is an improvement at all..

the 1gb plan is $30 a month. paying $25 for 500mb is retarded. if you dont want a data plan and think that its retarded, dont get it. its that simple.

6GB is virtually unlimited for most users....so why pay $5 less and have to constantly monitor your data usage?

Once you get a data plan, you'll always wonder how you ever lived without one....and if you're a long time customer, talk to retentions to see what they can do for you....I only pay $15 for my 6GB data plan ;)

wow i was waiting for the new iphone but seeing the videos i'd so much rather get the palm pre. one thing i absolutely HATE about iphones/ipods is the lack of drag and drop. i passionately HATE the stupid sync with itunes crap, makes life so much harder
