Yes, absolutely, positively, overwhelmingly worth it.

The same people that would tell you it's not worth it would be fine purchasing a 16 GB ipod touch for $100 less. No phone, no camera, no GPS, slower, and the list goes on.

I used an iPhone for a year without data and I loved it... after that I got a data plan and was blown away by all the cool things you can do on the go and all of the time saving and convenient features that a data enabled iPhone offers.

if you want an iphone with rogers or fido, you'll be waiting a few weeks for the next shipment at least. canada is completely sold out of the iphone..

Fido and Rogers stores are sold out but if u have the time and don't mind going downtown, head into the Apple store cause they seem to be getting shipments every day. As long as u are a current rogers/fido user they can activate an iphone for you through their store. Same deals apply as if u were doing it through Rogers/Fido. You can get the upgrade price plus use your Fido dollars.

I had a customer service rep at Fido tell me you can only get the upgrade price/use fido dollars through them and not the Apple store....NOT TRUE!!!

i wish i could just buy one from the apple store for 199 and then have to register it through fido to use it.. like it use to be with at&t

yup, that would be nice but those days are gone thanks to the iphone dev team and their awesome unlocking and jailbraking solutions.

redsn0w unlocks and jailbreaks the 2g. ultrasn0w is the unlock for the 3g which is downloaded through cydia.

Does anyone have the tethering on their 3gs working via bluetooth on a PC?

Apparantly the widcomm drivers for my laptop "dell m1210" conflict with the iphone therefore it doesn't work , but apparantly theres some way to use "windows xp" drivers for the bluetooth instead of the widcomm drivers. Anyone know how to do this?
