cut the sarcasm please and do some research.

let's see:

Shaw's 15mbps price (standalone) = $52
Telus' 15mbps price (standalone) = $43
Verizon FiOS 15mbps (standalone) = $50 US

last time I checked 52 is a larger number than 43. HMMMMMm. and compared to the US pricing it is damn good as well.

you gotta be fair when comparing these prices and can't just be biased because you don't like Telus for some reason

these prices are high because we're in good ol' Canada/North America so don't use whatever rate you are paying now in whatever country you are in for comparison. That's like saying you can get a bowl of soup in China for 50 cents when you pay 3 dollars here for the same thing - wow we're getting ripped off ! duh!

SkinnyPupp 07-21-2009 08:27 PM

Yup, I am biased. I hate Telus! :lol

Bonjour43MA 07-21-2009 08:53 PM

everyone hates Telus here that's for sure.

Ulic Qel-Droma 07-21-2009 08:54 PM

I never liked telus till they gave me free fibre optic. then I loved them. except for the 1 time in this year they've been down for like 5 hours.

JHuJHu 07-21-2009 11:08 PM

So wheres the extreme? I still have the extreme or had... What happened to that?

Grandmaster TSE 07-22-2009 02:58 PM

time to complain to telus

skyxx 07-22-2009 06:35 PM

I like Telus, other than their Filipino tech/CSR support. :)

mine sucks..oh well...just as long as it doesn't go directly to telus...haha

JordanLee 08-04-2009 04:32 PM

Slight bump

I just phoned in to telus retentions and got $28 a month for the 10-15mbps line for the next year. This is vs my old 31$ for 1.5mbps... They also changed our familys phone service so its cheaper and we get more features

Ch28 08-04-2009 07:38 PM

I live by BCIT and the only DSL service offered to us is the 3.0 one wtf

just to be fair a 2g/4g usb flash drive cost around 55/65 China money. so that comes to $10 CAD, which is a ripp off.

^ shop online or wait for deals, and you can get them for that price...

xpandabl3 08-25-2009 03:49 AM

I actually like my Telus haha. I just recently upgraded to the Turbo package as well but I'm paying $42 a month. I didn't ask for the Thompson modem though I simply bought a D-Link 2320B ADSL2+ Router from NCIX and it works great with my own router! The 6-7 years of ADSL service I never had a down time or slow speed maybe I'm just lucky haha.

g604 08-25-2009 07:29 AM

When you guys upgrade to turbo do they need to send you a new modem?

twitchyzero 08-25-2009 10:42 AM

hmm
my family just upgraded to turbo and we're paying $38 (bundled w/ home phone that's got all the features + internationl).
we were paying $36 for 3.0mbps for the past year and half (1.5mbps before that for same price)

they said the $28 is only for new customers?? They said we have to leave for 90 days and come back if we want that deal..but we've been with telus DSL since the start which is like 10 years ago!
I asked for the Thompson Speedtouch too.

CorneringArtist 08-25-2009 11:52 AM

I got a new modem (the Siemens) when I asked for the Turbo trial. Since then, I downgraded to normal High Speed and was able to keep it, it's decent anyways.

vmette_ 08-25-2009 03:32 PM

Hey twitchyzero, whats your total cost for phone + internet combined? We just cut off our home phone and Im stuck with something like $45 a month for 3.0mbps which I think its pretty homo for such a slow internet. Just wonderin

twitchyzero 08-25-2009 06:35 PM

^ that's quite a bit call in
it's roughly $92/mo w/ taxes for phone + internet
so $$ but my dad says he needs all the icing on the cake for the home phone

InvisibleSoul 08-25-2009 06:48 PM

$20/month for 25Mbps. :)

nabs 08-25-2009 07:00 PM

I go over the bandwidth limit almost every month just from all my downloading. telus doesn't charge extra nor do they really care about it.

!SG 08-25-2009 07:24 PM

my area sucks for adsl.

i get 2.55Mbps down, 0.61Mbps up.
