XxFcukxX 06-24-2009 10:32 PM

mother ****ing gnc.... should i just return the 2lbs ?

Alphamale 06-24-2009 10:44 PM

If you can, you should.

Ch28 06-24-2009 10:47 PM

Or you could go to the link I provided and get 10LBS for a little more.,

Alphamale 06-25-2009 05:08 AM

^See, but that requires:

a) Driving kinda far and other logistical complications (to varying degrees)
b) Putting money into the U.S. economy rather than developing relations and supporting local and Canadian business.

I'm all about cheap when and where ever possible (for an identical product), but if costs are roughly the same and you can get it NAO, I don't see a huge problem. However, I don't go through whey like a mother trucker so those who do may prefer to save a lot more money in the long run. Our proximity with the border is really a case of mixed-blessing for our local business and consumers.

Derek_N84 06-29-2009 01:44 AM

55 for a 5lb for me :)

Alphamale 06-29-2009 02:16 AM

^Want to tell us where and if there are stipulations?

RacePace 06-29-2009 01:59 PM

Both Reflex and Popeyes in Richmond usually have a higher sticker price than they usually charge for some reason. They always cut it down

can someone explain to me why you can justify spending upwards of $70 for a 2kg tub of ON when you can buy a 2kg tub GFR Leanfit Whey at costco for $29.
http://www.leanfit.com/wheyprotein.html
31g scoop. 25g protein, 2g fat, 2g carbs. high in BCAAs, no aspartame, no added sugar, natural flavor, gluten free.

jeffh 08-13-2009 05:14 PM

1) 5 lbs of ON costs about $40, not $70
2) What are the ingredients of that protein?
3) How does it taste?

I'l happily pay $10 more for 2 or 3 months worth of protein, even if it just tastes better, let alone the fact that it's not just a pure "whey concentrate"

ON mixes so easy, you can do it with a cup and spoon

can other protein mixes do that ?

RRxtar 08-13-2009 09:42 PM

no, i will admit, the stuff i use mixes like shit with a spoon and tastes pretty bland. but i usually blend it with fruit so it mixes very well and tastes great. and even when i do just make a quick drink without the blender, its not that bad. hell, its not a fancy latte its a fuckin protein shake.

and skinny its a blend (isolate and concentrate). ON is as well. ON might have a few more BCAA's and might be an ever so slightly better grade of whey but honestly, If the stuff I take is 85% of ON for less than half the price, Ill keep using it.

and as for 2kg being $40, why has everyone in this thread said its between $60 and $70 then?

I swear to god, aside from the taste and mixability, there cant be much difference between one brand of whey to another. Its all name brand marketting and ON has done a fantastic job of it by sponsoring various bodybuilding forums and getting people talking about it. I read one thread comparing my whey to ON and half the replies were "Ive never heard of that stuff, but ON is the most popular so its probably the best".

just like a 500mg extra strength tylenol is so much better than a 500mg generic pharmacy acetaminophen. Just like Eleiko plates will make you stronger than York plates.

SkinnyPupp 08-14-2009 12:19 AM

Bodybuilding.com carries 5 lbs for $42 USD. Hell even in fucking Hong Kong I can get it for $39 USD now.

I have nothing against buying a cheaper product, if it is similar and tastes just as good. For me, ON was just another brand I tried, because all the others weren't satisfactory to me. I tried everything from EAS to Prolab to no-name brands. Then I came across ON, despite all the marketing, and finally found a whey that mixes good, has good ingredients, etc. So I stuck with it. Yes, a 5 lbs bucket is $10 more, but it's still worth it for me. As you said, the Costco stuff mixes like shit, and you probably have to use a blender and fill it with other stuff. With ON, I can just pour a glass of water, throw in a scoop, and stir it with a chopstick and chug it down. To me, that's worth the extra $3 a month/whatever.

But for other people, it may be worth saving the cash. I wouldn't hold it against them or advise them otherwise. But if someone asked what whey they should buy, I am still going to say ON.
