It's a shame that he's always injured because the guy sure can dominate when healthy.

Cody Hodgson shocker: You don't know his name
By Botchford 09-15-2009 COMMENTS(3) The White Towel
Filed under: cody hodgson
The biggest news out of training camp concerns Cody Hodgson, but it has nothing to do with his back.
Yes, his back is feeling better and he has been cleared for contact drills. And yes, he could play Saturday.
But after Hodgson gave his encouraging medical report, he revealed the biggest surprise of camp. His name has been mispronounced since the moment he was drafted.
Hodgson is actually pronounced Hod-son. "Yes, the G is silent," Hodgson said. "Some people have dropped the G altogether to make it less confusing. That's how you pronounce my name and that's how I prefer it.
"But there are so many people saying Hodge-son, what am I going to do?"
He's right there, it will take a long time to change the way people say his name, but hopefully that change starts here. But if he's going to draw comparisons to Pavel Bure and Trevor Linden, shouldn't people take the time to get his name right?
As for the back, Hodgson said he wants to take a few practices to see how it responds. But he could play Saturday here in Vancouver. He said it felt 70% better.

		 | Everybody's been pronouncing his name wrong, LOL.

There will never be another Pavel Bure. Ovechkin comes close (really close), but Bure had crazy speed. The youtube videos look like they are fast forwarding when he's skating.

Ovie is strong on the puck, but his skills to move that puck is no where close to Bure
Ovie's puck strength is one of the reasons hes hungry to score
hes not an easy player to knock off the puck!
but there prob wont be another player with the two stride explosiveness that Bure had EVER

The Canucks, in their second preseason game, will ice a team featuring 11 Canucks who were with the team at the end of last season: Steve Bernier, Kevin Bieksa, Alex Edler, Michael Grabner, Darcy Hordichuk, Ryan Johnson, Ryan Kesler, Mason Raymond, Sami Salo and Kyle Wellwood.
Oh yes, and Roberto Luongo.
Filling out the lineup against the Ducks: goalie Cory Schneider, defencemen Nathan McIver, Brad Lukowich, Travis Ramsey — who split last season between Manitoba (AHL) and Victoria (ECHL) — Aaron Rome and college signing Evan Oberg.
Additional forwards: Farm veterans Michael Grabner and Alex Bolduc, summer signing Tanner Glass — who spent most of last year with AHL's Rochester — Ronald Petrovicky, Langley's Matt Pope and Mikael Samuelsson.
