The 3rd Period Heroics that Luongo seems to find DO NOT justify terrible mistakes EARLY in the game. The difference for the Canucks tonight WAS Luongo, and some weak ass penalties taken by the team to really stop the comeback.
As for Kyle Wellwood, I can safely assume that Wellwood is GREAT when his wingers can move their legs in any given situation. The speed that Hansen bring allows Wellwood to do the things he needs to do to succeed

I hate to say it, but Luongo did lose the game for the team tonight.
And please, people, don't say Raycroft would be worse. Raycroft is a backup goalie. Our main guy has to come through in games like this. It's not one of those steal a game for us type of a game. We had enough to win this one. Mediocre goaltending should have been enough.
I hope Luongo gets back on track. I hope Raycroft gets the call tomorrow and screws up. Put luongo in there and win the game. Get some confidence back into Luongo.

Luongo HATES not playing. He will never admit this(or did he?) but usually, hes GREAT on bounceback games.
and yep, Raycroft is the BACKUP solution. Albeit, a GREAT one. but the key here goes back to saying BACKUP. What is a backup. to relief the starter for a. rest or b. benching the starter on shitty play. Raycroft has fullfilled these needs for the canucks and it should stay that way

Back to the Wellwood thing. I really think he is a player that needs to play more. Get the legs moving and get into a groove.
Last year during the playoffs, Wellwood got more minutes because a few players were playing "under the weather". He played his heart out then, just like he did the last couple of games.

I love Lu and I don't bash the guy very often but he fucking sucked tonight and quite honestly he's played so so in the last few games. He needs to pick up his game or the Canucks are in trouble in the playoffs.
