I bitch about the Canucks all the time when they play like crap, and I watch every Canuck playoff game (given I'm in town) and probably 80% of games season long, for the past 15 years. (Although RTS may be on a different case here). |

There have been 3 recent cases of ruptured testicles in the NHL in the last decade. Last year Lidstrom got slashed there and missed a game IIRC. Mike Green blasted a slap shot into some Philly dman who missed a couple of games. But I'm pretty sure they needed surgery. Doesn't sound like Sami needs it. |

Botchford confirmed that Salo did not rupture his testicle. He was taken to hospital for precautions. |
^ Good news then. Our thin D-line just got thinner. When I saw SOB went down with blood spewing out like that, I thought Canucks were done for, with like 3 Dmen dressed... |

The Canucks were able to play their game and penalty kill because Luongo was actually goaltending as per advertised. When Luongo plays like that (fighting through screens for line of sight, and proper rebound control), his whole team doesn't have to cheat defensively and collapse to their box and be 1 step behind the Hawks on the breakout or PK. Again, too early to be too smug because the hole he dug himself in, pretty much means continuing on from tonight, Luongo will have no margin for any bad games at all. Praise him again only when he gets he regains his consistency. Not right now for only showing up on Game 1 and 5 and completely dropping the ball on Games 2,3 & 4. 1 game at at time boys, let's not get too ahead of ourselves. |

Also have to give credit to the defense for clearing up the front of the net and any loose pucks instead of looking on as the Hawks bang in the rebounds. They didn't do much of that in Games 3 and 4. Plus good job to most of the team for maintaining composure and playing their puck possession style of play without taking that many stupid penalties or giving the Hawks any momentum. Those with the early and late goals against are the real back breakers. I'm not defending Luongo's inconsistent play this series but he certainly wasn't the reason that we lost Games 3 and 4 as some people make it out to be. Great road win by the boys. Hopefully it translates to them finding their 'swagger' back and Lou being more confident and ready for Game 6 |
Lidstrom ruptured his testicle last year in the playoffs against the Blackhawks too  Lidstrom got speared in the nuts by Patrick Sharp and had to have surgery and missed 2 games. |

i dont know about you guys, but everytime i read "ruptured testicle". my balls felt kinda cold and quite hurting... lol |
Bieksa actually shot the puck on net last night and... it went in (twice!) Grabner definitely has NHL-speed, but his mind isn't quite there yet. If this series goes 7, I can definitely see him as being able to make something out of nothing and set up or score a clutch goal. Wellwood continues to impress. He thinks the game at a different level than most other players and he actually steps it up when it counts. Unfortunately, there's no room for him on the team next year if Hodgson and/or Schroeder have good camps. Mike Milbury actually said some insightful things last night between periods. Although he singled out Kane, his point about the entire Chicago team playing poorly was bang on. They played awful and they'll be back next game. We'll need a miracle to move to Game 7 (it's happened once this year, so it's not impossible.) |

a cup run that includes a 3-1 come back would make it that much sweeter. |
fuck, fish6666 posted "canucks will lose tonight's game and win game 5 and 6 and lost in game 7" when we were in game 4... He is 2/2 so far but i hope he predicts the game 7 wrong. |

So promising if you think about it. Quote:
As for Hodgson, being a first rounder doesn't entitle him to a roster spot. Just like the last 2 seasons, he'll have to earn his due. |
I can only speak for myself here, but im just sick and tired of bandwagoners saying "The Canucks are done!", "Golf Canucks Golf", "Canucks Suck" and stuff like that. Those guys are just waiting and relishing when the Canuck lose for some reason and i dont get it. Theres a difference between being an idiot "Trade Luongo!" and constructive criticism "Luongo has to work on his rebound control". And im all for constructive criticism as long as it make sense. In the end, i as a fan rather be cheering with FanBoys than bandwagoners cause Fanboys are still cheering for the team bandwagoners are just waiting to rub something in ur face. |
Another thing I like was Luongo's media snub. The dude was sharp almost instanteneously. If the lack of media distraction proves to be a healthy change in his responsibilities, I think he as a goaltender is better of surrendering his captaincy. If at all he can put his pride aside for that. And I wouldn't hold it against him if he just concentrated solely on goaltending. In fact, I'd respect him even moreso. |

Don't watch Game 6 (and 7 either). |

can't fault the team for anything when they play like they did last night. win or lose, i'm a canucks fan! |

we need to keep playing like we did last night, just get shots to the next and crash the net |
