Anyone have experience with ASOS plain tshirts? im in need of some white plain crew and vneck tees, and am considering the ASOS branded ones.

Also... with free shipping... does that mean I can place 1 item per order to avoid duties? LOL

J.C 11-26-2012 02:33 PM

why not just buy locally if they're just plain white shirts

Haven't found any good ones at a decent price. Any suggestions?

J.C 11-26-2012 03:10 PM

pretty much any clothing store like gap, old navy, american eagle, armani exchange
most of them would be $20 or less
since its just a plain white shirt, its bound to get dirty eventually so i personally wouldn't spend more then $30 on one :fuckthatshit:

areyounoob 11-26-2012 03:36 PM

Sears. You can get Hanes plain white tees in two packs for less than $20.

Or you can always buy google a wholesale tees seller and get them for less than $3 a shirt.

noTirl 11-26-2012 03:57 PM

You can get the banana republic pima tees for 3 for $34 when they have the 40% coupons out. Usually every wednesday.

Picked up the Arc'teryx Sabre jacket, has a nice minimalist look with little to no gaudy logos. Would be a massive upgrade over my current 7-years old Columbia ski jacket. Also functions as a decent looking jacket around town should the weather call for it.

I've bought all those brands (tried AE and AX, neither fit me well)... none of them really fit that nice imo, I just want a nice slim fitting tee that hopefully has decently thick material.

Old navy, gap and BR are quite baggy at the sides (pit to pit), and i'm quite scrawny. Hanes has really weird fit, don't know how to describe it.

I heard American apparel is good.. any vouchers, or other brand suggestions? Its a lil expensive ~20? and I'm hoping to get it for 10-15$

I thought all the Arcteryx jackets have the logo on the left heart area?

unit 11-27-2012 09:55 AM

^thats an older design i think.
i have a sidewinder and it doesnt have that logo on the front, but it does say arcteryx on the sleeve.

My favourite white tee right now is BR's "Fitted Vee." Try finding that? It isn't baggy on me and it's not like I'm swole (36" chest).

I have a few AA tees and they are slim but quite long. I'm 5'9" for reference and they cover my crotch despite fitting in the shoulders.

It's hard man, when what you're going after is that perfect fit for you. On top of that throwing price into the mix adds another layer. But man when you find that brand that gives you the exact fit you're looking for, it's golden and it's time to stock up.

People have already suggested the most common ones for the price point you're aiming for though. AE, BR, Gap, Haines etc

Vince has some decent ones but the price is higher than $20, Abercrombie has nice thick cotton but of course you gotta go down to Bellingham and they don't have straight up plain with zero logos, maybe a small AB logo on the chest just like AE tshirts.

Good luck!

Where did you buy this one? And how much?

Hondaracer 11-27-2012 07:29 PM

Question to anyone that has boots you need to oil..

I purchased the red wings on the last page and the saleswoman told me to oil them once a week for the first month

today i wore them for about an hour mostly driving a bit of walking, and there are very minor creases where you bend your foot at the ball/toes, if i continue to oil them more often will they get broken in without creases or are the creases inevitable?

woob 11-27-2012 07:51 PM

Creases are going to happen no matter what.

The best boot oil I have ever used was Dayton O.K boot oil,the stuff kicks ass.It conditions the leather and softens it a little and makes the leather waterproof, and it's also cheap too.I use it on all my boots.

H.Specter 11-27-2012 09:39 PM

obenauf LP
montana pitch blend

both are commonly used and highly regarded in the leather boot crowd.

just stay away from petroleum products.

Alpine 11-27-2012 11:11 PM

I also picked up a pair of Red Wing Boots~ 3 weeks ago and I was sold a bottle of Red Wing Boot Oil but I've never seen anyone recommend it. How does it compare to the other boot oils out there?

On a side note, can anyone recommend a brand/place locally to buy a pair of cedar shoe trees?

azn_beef 11-27-2012 11:21 PM

Moores has good deals on cedar trees i usually wait till 2 for 1 deals

J.C 11-27-2012 11:51 PM

amazon has AE cedar or woodlore shoe trees for $20-25

Men: Sterlingwear of Boston

has anyone purchased a peacoat from this company before? and thoughts on the 8 button vs 6 button jackets.

I haven't personally, but Sterlingwear is the manufacturer for the USN, so you would be able to purchase one from a surplus store for a fraction of the cost as direct from them.

An eight button is good if you'll be wearing it outside walking around primarily, but if you plan on wearing it sitting down the six button will give you a bit more flexibility and comfort.
