Was spending the afternoon in evening, seems like the weather was the same all around, though the orange sky was quite beautiful.

Actually..weathernetwork is probably the worst.

I trust http://vancouver.weatherpage.ca/ and http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/city/..._metric_e.html more.

Weatherpage was predicting thunderstorms on Saturday since Tuesday or Wednesday, and it came true.

Never trusted Weather Network. Always found it to be WAY off. We tried using it when I was working with the CASCAR team years ago, it was always wrong, every city we were in.

I think there's an inherent trust with weatheroffice, since that IS Environment Canada's own site, who are the people most other sites get their info from.

So what was it actually like down at the beach during the fireworks? How many people stayed there to watch despite the weather?

Well, there were definitely ppl leaving, but to my surprise, there were still a lot of ppl. Everyone shouted in excitement every time a huge lightning struck! A lot of ppl had umbrellas, but the announcer recommended we not use the umbrellas for safety reasons...prob don't want lightning to struck anyone!
Eventually we all got wet and don't care anymore...and enjoyed the fireworks while standing up.

For those that went yesterday and saw Canada's display. Which do you guys think is better?

South Africa with Lightning in the background or Canada's fireworks?
