| raining in downtown??
i was planning on going to the fireworks, can anyone please tell me if its raining in downtown?? near the beach?? its pouring here we had a thundershower in east van.

I'm in downtown; crazy downpour right now, don't think the weather will clear in time for the fireworks but who knows with this wacky weather.

major lightning/thunder storm going on over in the mountains pretty close to maple ridge
like lightning every 1second or less been going on for a few hours now, earlier in the day u could only hear the thunder then it started to rain and now the lightning off in the distance is begining to surround us but still in the mountains

The main threats from these storms would be 15 mm hail, strong wind gusts, and heavy downpours. SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING: Fraser Valley Issued at 7.09 PM PDT SATURDAY 25 JULY 2009
At 7:00pm radar indicates a line of severe thunderstorms just to the west of Harrison Lake moving west-southwest at 30 km/h. A severe thunderstorm just southeast of Whistler is moving southwest at 40 km/h. These thunderstorms are capable of producing large hail, strong winds, and heavy rain. THIS IS A WARNING THAT SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE IMMINENT OR OCCURRING IN THESE REGIONS. REMEMBER SOME SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE TORNADOES..LISTEN FOR UPDATED WARNINGS. NOTE..A SUMMARY OF ALL WARNINGS AND WATCHES FOR COASTAL BRITISH COLUMBIA IS AVAILABLE IN THE WWCN11 CWVR BULLETIN ISSUED IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THIS BULLETIN.

There's quite the lightning storm show going on over North Burnaby-ish...
Tons of lightning strikes and the whole sky is lighting up every few seconds or so!!

I can see the storm moving closer and closer....lol....heading west towards downtown.....
I'm over by Brentwood at the moment and when i look east, it's getting darker and darker and the thunder is getting closer and closer....
