can i own a house in "vancouver" - tell me where ( 2 br , 2 full bath )

(12*160hrs/mo + 10*160hrs/mo) = 3500/mo gross x 18% for tax =2860 after tax x 12 = 35k per year!

can i own a decent car ? decent = 2000+ without it having to breakdown every 2500km

seems like ur in fantasy land mr.piggy, or u've grown up with money all ur life that you have lost its meaning..

lol. if ur making 12 bucks an hour. wife making 10 an hour. and you got 2 kids, oldest one is in high skool. then "owning" a house and car is the least of your worries lol. gotta be a complete fuckin idiot to have that situation.

well its not easy to live in vancouver

say husband bring home $3g after taxe ($4g before taxes) wife brings home $2g before taxes

u have roughly $5g to spread our ur monthly expenses

$300 for a grocery getter

$200 for gas

$200 for insurance

$900 for food for the entire family

cell phones, cable, land lines $170

property taxes $300

mortgage/rent $1000-1400

misc expenses $300-600

about $4000 dollar right there, you can hardly save money if at all

This tolling is not going to help to improve the public transportation in any way. Is just a money grab for the higher ups so they can give themselvies 40% annual raise every year.

LOL, sorry about that I had like 5 windows open at once.

Ya I don't really get the whole everyone wants to live in Vancouver attitude like it's the end all be all place to live. I've said it before and I'll say it again, you can give me the same house on same land in Vancouver then I have right now for the same price and I'd still rather live where I am. I have no desire to live in Vancouver and I'm not alone.

If I suddenly won 10 million from the lotto I'd build a house in the same area I'm in now.

i dont really even get why this is a topic. if people cant afford to live in vancouver then dont live in vancouver. if i was making 14 bucks an hour. i wouldnt have a stick up my ass because i cant live in the west side. just gotta live within your means.

fuck sakes. i havnt gone on a proper vacation in 6 years. started working straight out of high school and i work 6 days a week. im never gonna cry because of some random people i dont know drive a nicer car or live in a nicer area. all i know is that i just gotta grind harder and work balls to the wall to achieve that shit.

on topic tho. the tolls are retarded. lol. i live in richmond. im gong to get fucked hard.

I'm just gonna go and assume the following:
- u cross a bridge everytime you want to go to the 'vancouver'
- u live in richmond because you cant afford to live in the 'vancouver'

people move out to surrey, langley, abby cuz its cheaper. and driving for 40mins-1hr is 'not bad'. With tolls the person has two alternative:
7$ / day in tolls (3.50 x2) + 1hr commute time( say u make 20/hr) = 27.
alternately, you can bus ur ass for 2hrs = $40

so you go with option 1: drive and pay. 7*5 = 35 / week x 52 = 1820 per year.

i bet you anything that is 1 extra mortgage payment for a person in a small city.

the person tries to better themselves , but the gov't just pushes them back to the ground.

parents moved to richmond because its closer to our warehouse/office. my daily commute to work is a grand total of 3 minutes each way.

still own the vancouver house btw. just renting it out.
