I knew this guy way back who went on this date and before they started out they stopped at the gas station to fill up. First of all he asked her for some gas money, she gave him $20. Nothing wrong with being cheap, as long as you don't take it out on other people.
Personally I wouldn't have a problem with a girl being cheap if she didn't complain that I only took her to pho and not Aqua Riva (pho tastes good  ). Much rather date a "cheap" girl than a "baller" type (usually powered by mom and dad) who spends more than she makes and has no concept of earning money. Been there done that for both; trust me, I'd take cheap again in a second.

To grossly oversimplify it: PST goes away... GST effectively goes to 12% that's split 7% to the BC gov't, 5% to the feds.
Anything that had PST + GST before, tax will be the same.
Anything that had GST only will now have HST and will be higher.
Anything that had PST only and no GST, will now have NO sales tax.

I know people who were raised with lots of money who wont expect the guy to pay, they are down to earth and not stuck up.
