I wonder if it will be out by Spring?

xpl0sive 10-22-2009 09:27 AM

looks like an sc 400 on steroids... and why would they spend all this money on R&D and then only sell 500 units... dont make sense... And for the price, I would rather have the R8 V10... better looks its probably a better car...

hk20000 10-22-2009 11:32 AM

Automakers always "say" they are going to make this a limited model but then turns around and make it a mass production platform.

EVO was supposed to be a 1500 cars deal back in the days. EVOX is unlimited production model.
Same goes for STi, GTR and all that crap.

The least you can expect is there will be another batch for the open top models.

6insomnia9 10-22-2009 11:37 AM

Looks so fricken sexyy.

xpl0sive 10-22-2009 12:02 PM

come to think of it, 375K tahts LP560 territory... and I don't know would anyone would buy a Lexus over a LAMBORGHINI

skyxx 10-22-2009 01:32 PM

If it's exclusive enough people will buy it. There will only be about 350 LHD models available.

definitely not to the extent of the examples you listed. This car is 375 000, not 60 000

The Lexus wont catch on fire.

One the the most reliable auto makers just made a Supercar guys. I think this car is worth checking out.

With the FT-86 concept out, and the LFA available for purchase, I have my fingers crossed that Toyota/Lexus is comming back with sports cars.
I'm waiting for the next SC/Supra.

TypeRNammer 10-22-2009 03:29 PM

Well props on Lexus making this car, can't believe Honda scrapped the NSX project >_<*

Jsunu 10-22-2009 03:41 PM

Is it wrong for me to want the car just for its digital dash..... man LOVE digital dashes!

skyxx 10-22-2009 03:50 PM

^ Digital dashes are so 1980s. ;)

JSALES 10-22-2009 04:59 PM

Yet a lot of people would buy a Toyota over a VW, oh, the irony.

I hope the FT-86 will have a proper name when it comes out.

You can probably get a better deal on a brand new Lamborghini LP640 with that kinda money, the price on this car fails.

jmvdesign 10-24-2009 09:14 PM

After learning more and more about this car, the price is starting to make sense. This article http://jalopnik.com/5388538/2011-lexus-lfa-first-drive points out that every single element and component of the car was designed by Toyota in-house by themselves. They relied on their very own F1 technology and refrained from contracting parts/components out to other third-party manufacturers like what other supercar companies usually do. In essence, the article claims that this is the purest supercar ever made available today.
