good good. snow up on the mountains =)

but i will be down at portland for the weekend...fuck! and school starts next monday. sigh.

anyways, how's the raven chairlift? the blacks on that end is the best part of the mountain. there are no one lining up for the chairlift, EVER.

but the shitty part is that it's below the parking lot, so it get icy easily. there's this one time, the chairlift closed and i had to hike 45 mins back up. by the end of it, my friend unzipped his jacket, and there were smoke coming out. LOL

but can i use my skicard to buy me and my friend both lift passes? or am i limited to buying one for me only.

Pretty sure he meant get multiple lift tickets with the same skicard, on the same day, at nearly the same time.

The Skicard is only good for the person who bought it. So no, you can't buy 1 skicard and get yourself and a bunch of friends discount tickets. Same goes for the Whistler/Blackcomb Edge card.

BTW, anyone go to Whistler the past day or 2? Thinking of going with a friend this Sunday (2nd) but we don't want to go if it's too icy.

TRDood 01-01-2010 02:54 AM

oh sorry. its 1 discounted lift ticket per day per skicard.

i was at whistler today (friday) and it was really good. lots of of new snow but they did close all the alpine chairs and runs due to really high winds. surprisingly not all that busy either.

went to grouse yesterday and it closes at 730pm. I went there for night ski, got full refund back and free lift :D

+Kardboard+ 01-02-2010 09:46 PM

Grouse closes at 10, no? Night skiing, no? And they're open 24/7 during the Olympics. O__O

I learned there and will always have a soft spot for that mountain. Went up on NYE and a had a beautiful time!

Grouse vs Cypress

I always hear people going to Cypress more often than Grouse, is there a reason for that? Haven't been to Grouse yet, but dont know if its any better than Cypress.

+Kardboard+ 01-02-2010 11:22 PM

Grouse is more accessible, but more limiting than Cypress. Grouse has a way better view of the city. At the moment, I would say Grouse definitely > Cypress because of the 2010 stuff going on and I also hear you need chains for the road or something? Grouse you just take the gondola up muahahaha :lol

SilveRx 01-03-2010 12:22 AM

but grouse you gotta pay for parking@@
is there any ski cards or discount at grouse?
cuz cypress have ski card for 20% off

Djiban 01-03-2010 12:33 AM

i found that there were more noobs at grouse than cypress.
most of the runs are way wider than cypress and if there's fresh powder, they tend to be less groomed, unlike cypress they're more flat

+Kardboard+ 01-03-2010 01:54 AM

20% off what? Free parking at the gravel lots at Grouse. Hardly a longer walk if you get a spot close enough. Like I did. :p

stealth604 01-03-2010 12:28 PM

^ its 5 bucks if you park at the paved lots. Its free on the unpaved lot.
