Backyard's lawn vandalized I found this happened to my lawn this morning. It happened over night. Does it look like it was done by a person or possibly an animal? http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/634/img2209h.jpg http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/4685/img2210e.jpg |
it was those fucken birds i bet.....i shoot them with my bb gun when they try to fuck around with my lawn :gun: |
that looks like someone (probably teenagers) is fucking with your lawn. |
It's probably the crows. I can't see a bunch of kids actually getting down and dirty to do that. |
birds cannot do that much damage... it looks like it was done with a grub hoe for those less educated, or have never done work http://3.bp.blogspot.com/__aMF2pW0XL.../119923_lg.jpg |
It's the work of those fucking crows! I have seen hundreds of them on lawns in my neighbourhood ripping up peoples yard looking for food. |
I don't see how crows can tear up a lawn like that. |
i've seen the crows do that much damage before |
animals ! |
I'm pretty sure it was crows. I asked somebody about this a while ago and they told me it was the crows looking for a certain worm thats only on some lawns. I have seen a bigass army of crows working over a few lawns around langara, some guy even put down mesh and weighed it down with cinderblocks so the crows cant wreck it any further. |
MY gf's mom's house looked similar, shortly after they laid their sod down a few years ago. It got even worse when they tried to re-seed the damaged area - the crows would come down and eat the seed, thus fucking it up even more. |
same thing happened to my parents place. Its a mixture of birds and skunk's around the area....The skunk appears late at night. If you have a gate, close it. |
no way crows can rip up THAT big of grass.. yeah, maybe if it was small bits but looks like a bigger animal did it or some dude that hates you haha |
Raccoons come to mind.with the ground being that muddy there has to be footprints, even a crow would leave them. |
I've seen crows that have done damage that large, however it looks as though it's a human act. If any animal did it, the damage would be more scattered... From the picture, it looks like HUGE chunks are flipped over, tossed and/or lifted from it's surface (possibly with a grub hoe). And if an animal did it, there would be some footprints.. I don't see any animal living in an urban setting covering footprints.. |
why would a person turn over a few pieces of grass mat? in the backyard at that.... grow some grass normally |
I'd go with raccoons, i've seen them doing it at my friend's neighbours front lawn. I've seen skunk doing it to on the same neighbourhood. |
not the crows b/c they pull out little holes all over your lawn. We have a few houses in our area that have had their lawns destroyed by crows. |
Kinda looks like a middle finger from birds eye view Posted via RS Mobile |
probably some animal, dont think anyone would spend that much time doing hard labour to rip out your lawn |
Looks like you pissed off someone. I can't think of any animal that would dig up large chunks of grass like that. Not crows, that's for sure. Any foot prints or dirt on driveway? How well lit is your backyard at night? |
reminds me of that crappy movie with jim carrey: fun with dick and jane. he's rich, then he's poor. so he resorts to stealing sod from his neighbour's yard to fix his own. not sure why humans wouldn't do more than dig up your yard. see any paw prints or shoe prints in the dirt? |
The bug crows are looking for is the European Chafer Beetle. This is a problem on Vancouver East Side right now and my front lawn has been destroyed by crows constantly coming to try and find this bug. However, by the looks of your lawn I'm fairly confident it wasn't the work by Crows. If it was there would be many little patches of grass being dug up and not huge patches like yours. Could possibly be another animal or just some stupid teens. |
If it's done by humans, I doubt it's intentional. If they were trying to get back at me, I think there are a lot more easier ways to cause damage ie., spraying my house/car with paint. In addition, I walked around the whole backyard and found that everything was alright except that patch of lawn, which is pretty random. My sister just told me the gardeners came by yesterday, so maybe they put something in the grass that attracted the animals? But odd thing is, this is the first time I had this happened. I'm pretty sure it happened at night because the lawn was fine during day time. My backyard isn't very well lit. |
crows are pretty freaking strong man. they scare me lol. |
