from the looks of it, i dont knw wtf took them so long. looks just like the prologue

Mugen EvOlutioN 06-18-2010 07:33 AM

should have release first than download update

AhXian 06-18-2010 09:22 PM

its not confirmed the 800 standard cars have cockpit view or not
http://www.gtplanet.net/more-gt5-det...phony-digital/
read the comments...

some say it does, some say it doesn't.
it doesn't matter to do anyways, since i use bumper view most of the time.

CP.AR 06-19-2010 10:09 PM

^ Well, a lot of people use the bumper view as primary... The thing is that PD kept on promising "more detail like you have never experienced", but turns around and churns out a product which seems more of an "upgrade" than a "new, fresh product".

FOUR YEARS. that's 50 cars/year that's been done properly. The "standard" cars just had their polygon count turned up in the rendering process. Seriously PD... WTF

Jmac 06-19-2010 10:56 PM

Nissan Silvia S12 ... Fuck YES ! I can finally drive my car in a game !

GT3 -> GT4 = 4 years
GT4 -> GT5 = 6 years

hardware has just become so capable and software is just catching up i guess

bump...karts to be included

and 'course maker'
Quote:

Gran Turismo 5's Course Maker lets you build a custom racetrack based on a set of parameters. Players can select a theme, choose the number of sections and course type (one way or loop), weather, time of day and length. Two of the themes shown off were Toscany and the Belgian High Fens.

The Course Maker lets you edit that track section-by-section, choosing the frequency of curves, course width, sharpness of corners, degree of topography tracing, and bank angles. Those choices are set by sliders or drop down lists. Yamauchi created a pair of custom tracks, both with the same theme but with different parameters. He quickly took each for a test drive, illustrating how quickly a player could create two very different courses.

G-spec 08-19-2010 10:04 AM

nice collection, me like :)

TOS'd 08-19-2010 11:05 AM

^ says engadget lol, not his collection.

G-spec, if you are still looking for a G27 i might know where you can get it for a relatively good price.

Mugen EvOlutioN 08-19-2010 11:06 AM

oh shit

is that the G27?

i never see g27 before

wats the difference between 27 and 25

and price???

im interested

TOS'd 08-19-2010 11:09 AM

Btw, those who pre-ordered the game, did you get the game alone or the CE.

G-spec 08-19-2010 11:10 AM

those aren't mine Szeto, I used to have the GT in the top there, sold it and currently have a G25, will be selling that and getting a G27 closer to around the time when Gran Turismo comes out.

TOS, if I get it now I'll be stuck playin all sorts of games killin too much time, lol, Imma pick it up when Gran Turismo comes out. Where will you be getting yours though ??

Mugen the differences are in the shifter, it's more solid and much better now, and also more buttons on the steering wheel, plus those cool LED shift lights on the steering wheel as well. Probably a few other things I'm missing out as well

I had to box up my G25, no time for video games in the last year at all, havent played anything... I still need to get a racing seat for it though, had it set up like this before when I was playing Prologue

Ive had my g27 for a couple months now, its not the same without an actual car seat lol. Been neglecting to play with the wheel for a month now, been browsing around for a cheap racing seat, and then some how mount/fabricate a stand for it all. I would have just looked for a playseat(?) evolution but I don't like how that bar goes between your leg.

I'm sure you guys have seen this video but this is what I would like if I could haha
Handbrake mod, improved shifter, larger wheel, reverse mounted pedals.

Someone on this forum modded his Playseat so it had inverted pedals.
One thing I like about GT5 is it allows 2 steering wheels, So when playing 2 players with friends you can race side by side.. Its acctually fun I'm currently doing this with my 2 G25 and prologue... G27 is nice and all but i love my sequential shifting for LFS and plus i modded my shifter so it shifts with the same feel like the G27.

Mugen EvOlutioN 08-19-2010 11:38 AM

^

shit is freaking dope

how much is G27

and where can you get it

futureshop? NCIX?

Dragon-88 08-19-2010 11:55 AM

Yeah. Like $300
NCIX would probably be the best place to get it. I never buy from FS BB

Yea I know its already possible to do all those mods I listed without having that guy's setup. But everything flows so nicely on his setup.

G-spec 08-19-2010 02:46 PM

that's a nice setup TOS, where did you get your G27 by the way and for how much, I will be buying fairly soon, should give myself a bit of time to brush up with prologue before GT comes out, PM me if you want.

1exotic 08-19-2010 03:40 PM

Does GT5 have drift mode?

I haven't played Forza 3 for like 5 months but drift mode online and shit was so fun, I always won also with my S15/Supra drift cars.

TOS'd 08-19-2010 03:44 PM

^ yes it does have drift mode, but I cannot compare it to Forza 3 since I never really played it.

twitchyzero 08-19-2010 04:06 PM

don't 'upgrade' if you already have a g25..not worth the $$..you won't even be looking at the led tach when you are staring at the TV/monitor...the only thing appealing is that apparently the wheel turns smoother (something to do with the helical cranks internally)..the 4 extra-buttons aren't really necessary for me...there's already like 9 different ones on the center console
