So If I want the Bogo promo, I would need to activate TWO ACCOUNTS? What's stopping me from canceling the second account after I grab the phones? (BB Bold + Pearl) |

lol I just got my first bill after adding a line on the $40 always shout + infinite mobile. got charged $40 for the plan + 0.30 for 3 text messages + $130 for data usage.... uh... they'll adjust the rate but i'd have to pay all the bill before or my service will get cut off. They'll then apply a credit to my account. lol holiday promo fail! |

Okay guys, I need some advice/ a walk through of what I should do from my situation right now. My contract with Rogers expires on the 22nd, and since they are not willing to meet me halfway to give me a better contract/price I have decided to switch to another provider. I was going to go with Mobilicity, but since Wind has the same $40 Unlimited deal, I think I'll take my chances with Wind instead. My Contract expires on the 22nd, I would need a new phone from Wind, or Wind compatible. So can anyone walk me through how this will work? I know that Rogers will keep charging me the same plan until I call them to tell them I am leaving, so will my number be deactivated on the 22nd? Mobilicity told me all they need is my account number, and they can transfer over my number. This is the same deal with Wind I'm assuming? Mobilicity's unlimited works as long as I'm in any Unlimited Mobilicity Coverage Area, so for example if I'm in Toronto, I can still use my plan as if I am still in Vancouver. Does anybody know if this is the same case with Wind? Has the loophole been 100% patched? (Meaning I can't get the $150 Credit) Can I pre buy a SIM card off Craigslist and bring it into Wind? Thanks in advance everybody. |
Wind will do all the work in porting the number over. Don't call in to rogers to cancel. |

i dnt think they are offering $150 credit, are they? anyways, you can only get 1 promo, so see what they have. If you use mobile phone browsing, the $40 plan seems really good. |
Anyone experiencing problems with half duplexing on wind? There's people over at howard forums who are saying it's a major problem. |
what's half duplexing exactly? i googled it but im still confused is that like not being able to use 2 data apps at the same time? i know when im playing Angry Birds Holiday i keep losing my data connection but i thought it was a problem with the game |

WINDS plan works in any of their Home Zones (so same as mobilicity) From what i understand from this thread WindTab and the Holiday $40 Pricing plan works together without having to do any "tricks" Wind is allowing it. why would you pre-buy a sim from craigslist? (if you do the windtab deal you get a sim card from what i understand) |

ok this is stupid. I ported over to Wind's $40 from mobi a week ago. Got the windtab first on the chat plan and as soon as my number ported, the rep changed my plan to the $40 unlimited data. I then was told the service was active and can start using the data right away. Somehow, the change didnt occur until 1am that day. So from 8pm - 1am, i accumulated 31mb of data usage. I then get the bill with a charge of $130 for the 31mb of data during that period that Wind fuked up. I called them and the CSR supervisor at the time said they'll adjust the bill because it was their mistake but needed to email corporate and have them do it from their end as it was too high an amount for her to deal with. After a few days of no change in the bill, I call again and now they're saying corporate replied and they decided not to credit the money and I will have to pay the full $130. WTF is this shit? I dont see how they cannot see that This was a mess up on their part. Why would I port in from mobilicity's unlimited everything plan onto wind's chat plan so i can use $130 worth of pay per use data. I called CSR again and they sent in another email trying to convince corporate to reconsider the credit. WTF is this BS. |
