you might have better luck going into a retail location. they'll be able to process it on the spot or even take care of it for you instead of having to call back to check your bill

I then was told the service was active and can start using the data right away. Somehow, the change didnt occur until 1am that day. So from 8pm - 1am, i accumulated 31mb of data usage. I then get the bill with a charge of $130 for the 31mb of data during that period that Wind fuked up. I called them and the CSR supervisor at the time said they'll adjust the bill because it was their mistake but needed to email corporate and have them do it from their end as it was too high an amount for her to deal with. After a few days of no change in the bill, I call again and now they're saying corporate replied and they decided not to credit the money and I will have to pay the full $130. WTF is this shit? I dont see how they cannot see that This was a mess up on their part. Why would I port in from mobilicity's unlimited everything plan onto wind's chat plan so i can use $130 worth of pay per use data. I called CSR again and they sent in another email trying to convince corporate to reconsider the credit. WTF is this BS.

msg me your number, I will fix for you :)

J______ how's the call quality with WIND have you noticed any duplex issues? Seriously considering switching over with this new deal.

I ordered a t-mobile galaxy s, and read earlier that you were using one on WIND as well, So i thought I would ask you.

Planning to jump the gun in the next few days to go with either Mobilicity or Wind for the $40 unlimited plan.

Will cough up the $180 bucks to cancel my plan. Before I move forward, which provide should I go for and why? Which of the two carriers currently has the best reception?

Thanks!

reception is not that great compared to rogers/fido in general

Kamui712 12-20-2010 12:02 PM

^ yea I get the reception isn't as solid, I was asking more about the voice/call quality when you're talking to someone. Some ppl say it's fine, other's curse at it

wind has better coverage than mobilicity and faster/stable data. Mobilicity seems to have a marginally clearer voice signal but their data was unusable for me on my vibrant when I was on it so I had to switch back to wind.

not really sure what a duplex issue is, but I havent noticed anything if there is such an issue.

voice quality is pretty good. Mobilicity seemed to have a slightly clearer call but Wind's pretty good. Rarely do i have a dropped call and I've never had any comments from the other end that my voice is bad. With the usuably fast data and decent voice, I would pick wind over mobi atm.

last two nights i've been having 1-2 bars and sometimes no signal at all and i live on the 2nd floor bungalow.

Sometimes people say i sound like an alien and going to school I dont get strong signal because Wind has some weak building penetration =(

Purely 12-20-2010 07:18 PM

I have 9days left with a Fido contract. If I port over to Wind right now, do I still get the $150 credit? If I purchase a phone that is under $150, do I get it for free?(wind tab)

Vulcan300 12-20-2010 07:51 PM

there is no credit from porting
yes if qualify for the wind tab it is practically free if you stay long enough for it to be paid off

stolengoods 12-20-2010 08:49 PM

Does anybody know if I can wait a bit before porting my Rogers number over? Or does it have to be within 24 hours?

Where about do you live? I heard folks in downtown, Oakridge, QE areas are getting good signal.

Still looking for feedback of how strong the signal is for East Van ppl for areas like in Joyce, Killarney, Champlain Heights, etc.

Technically this is not possible, but if you deal with a rep with half a brain it can be done (assuming you want the $40 plan or $25 cheer plan).

Can anybody confirm 110% that porting over a number will not qualify for a $150 credit?

Thanks in advance.

Peturbo 12-22-2010 07:08 AM

^I ported my number and was still able get the tab no problem.

Just wondering if there is any other poor college student that is considering canceling high speed internet at home and just tethering at home and download stuff at school?

I get dropped calls once in a while and sometimes people say I sound like an alien too but for $40/mth, I guess you can't expect it to be perfect.

StylinRed 12-22-2010 03:15 PM

tried to get this App (joikuspot) to work with my Wind connection (turns the phone into a wifi hotspot) but it wont work -_- keep getting a connection error :/

edit ohhh got it working score!

are they still offering the port over credit? mind you that the credit is taken over a period of time and no given all at once...

i believe you can only get 1 promo per new sign up, unless they change it for the holidays...

It can only get better for these new companies as they get more established

I signed up on the 23rd, and ended up getting the $150 Windtab.

They took it off the total cost of my phone, but now they're taking 10% off of every bill I get to pay towards the $150.
