There's a lot of small business, especially mom and pop business here that I don't think have the cash to put together A-list commercials. It's easy to forget that there's a huge population difference too.

Do it right or don't do it at all. Don't embarrass yourself by putting together something that looks like some Jr. High School kid's project.
If your ads look like garbage what confidence do I have in your business?

Well, besides his new gig on the Island, he's invested into a new Italian restuarant. Remember where Big Al's use to be? 1st and Rupert, they opened "Poor Italian".

I saw Tony Parsons walking along Georgia about a month ago (with a Brooks Brothers shopping bag.) I must say that the production crew does a great job making an old guy look presentable on TV.
I hope he enjoys his semi-retirement. He'll probably be one of the last anchors in BC with any household name presence because audiences for TV news broadcasts are declining.

He's been in a constant in my life, as a kid my dad always watched the news at 6. I always hated it, then I got older and started watching myself sometimes. He was there waiting for me! lol
He's always seemed to have a professional but personable/likable presence. I think I get A Life in the News for my dad for Christmas if I can get it in time

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - CBC has anounced former Global BC anchor Tony Parsons has been named the new co-anchor for the CBC Vancouver 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. newscast. He'll replace Ian Hanomansing, who's now working on "The National".
Parsons takes to the air on CBC tonight at 5 p.m., co-anchoring local news with Gloria Macarenko. Only weeks ago, Parsons took over the anchor desk at CHEK News in Victoria. Before that Parsons was the anchor on Global for over 30 years.
Under the agreement, Parsons will appear on the supper-hour newscast for CBC in Vancouver, and then appear at 10 p.m. on CHEK's Vancouver Island newscast.

| So he will be travelling between Vancouver and Victoria every day?

Aww.. but he won't have the gang - Squire, Deborah, Wayne - to chit-chat with at the end of every newshour. I wonder if he's allowed to bring Jack with him...
