If 99% of the computers in use today still have PCI slots, that means it's not obsolete yet.

Who still has a Beta Max player? My parents told me they bought their first VCR back in the late 70's early 80's for like over 1000 dollars. Mind you that was back then where $1000 was crazy money LOl. Sigh....

For movies, yes. For anything computer related, no, not yet.
LAN -> Wi-Fi
Uhhh... no. You think big companies are going to run a network off wireless routers?
Windows XP -> Windows 7
90% of the company computers here still run XP.
HTML -> Java
This doesn't even make sense.
Wired keyboard/mouse -> Wireless keyboard/mouse
I still use wired and wouldn't have it any other way. This is just preference.
Cell Phone Number Pad -> Touchscreen/QWERTY
I fucking hate touchscreen only phones, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Until you can get tactile feedback from a touchscreen, buttons are here to stay.
HDD -> SSD
Walk into a datacentre and look at all the SSDs you'll see. Oh wait, you won't see any.
IPv4 -> IPv6
Open up your command prompt. Ping google. What do you get? An ipv4 address.
FAT32 -> NTFS
I bet you your USB stick is formatted as FAT32. Quote:

You said new boards didn't come with any PCI slots. I linked you to a new board that had PCI slots. Just because one enthusiast board doesn't have any PCI slots doesn't mean it's obsolete.

whats the point of having PCI slots when all new add on cards now are made in PCI-E format? RAID, Sound, Network, TV Tuners etc....
if you had an old PCI card that requires a PCI slot, that just means your card is obsolete

you can still currently "use" cassette tape and buy them in stores, doesnt mean they are not obsolete |

And yes, a PCI-E card may be the same price as a PCI, but then they have to upgrade to a new motherboard (such as buying a BD player for BR discs), so why bother when what they currently have works just as well in their eyes?

Fuck... shut up, Hyde.
Your logic is terrible. Even if it was true that ALL add-on cards are available now in the PCI-E interface, that doensn't mean PCI is now obsolete.
Something becomes obsolete when it is no longer used by the majority of people.
Just because something BETTER exists, doesn't make the older technology obsolete... yet. Not until the new has become the de facto standard and the use greatly exceeds the old.
Bottom line is PCI-E has NOT reached that status yet, and almost all motherboards still have PCI slots, and many expansion cards sold are still with the PCI interface.
Therefore, PCI is NOT obsolete - YET.
