i remember the old metrotown, where the stores on the eaton's center side was like a ghost town. lol. I was explaining to my girlfriend once on how much that place had changed. Before the huge construction project.

Can any of you remember that old walkway to get to 'Eatons Centre'?

Yupp it was right beside the Old GUESS store, and Garage Clothes.

celica-g5 01-16-2010 11:09 AM

What about the bridge that connected metrotown with eaton center before, and as soon as you got over the metrotown side, there were public washrooms and this video game store which was always crowded with other kids, because they had a Super Nintendo stand there. Anyone remember that?

I miss the times when you pay $10 for 1-hr of unlimited gaming between 9AM-11AM or something on Saturdays. It was something worth waking up for.

Then, after consumed from hours of gaming, my friends and I would go to rainforest and have lunch (which now became Old Navy and the bathroom). Miss those old days

Is not ecactly true. U got 60min time. Each time you use your palydium card to swip u lost 1min. I wish they would reopen playdium again.

KO7 01-16-2010 11:49 AM

I was having an aneurysm trying to remember what used to be there before Old Navy.... Rainforest Cafe! Thank you for this thread =)

I remember when there was only a Sears and no mall.

Gh0stRider 01-16-2010 12:06 PM

hotjoint 01-16-2010 12:12 PM

playdium was the shit

MG1 01-16-2010 12:18 PM

I remember when Metrotown wasn't. When it was just a Woodwards and Sears.

Then they built Station Square and then it started to take shape.

winson604 01-16-2010 12:40 PM

The only thing I miss about the old Metrotown and well in fact every mall was the smoking inside. Sigh

twitchyzero 01-16-2010 12:42 PM

PC station for cs?
i remember station square in late 90's was pretty busy...then when they opened metropolis in 99 or 2000 everyone drifted there...

Greenstoner 01-16-2010 12:52 PM

i remember the kids were traveling in packs of 15-20 .. nowadays the newer generation usually in 5-8

You guys don't remember how dead the "other side" was (The Bay side) before the renovation. After the major construction, it drew most customers and consumer to the other side now. A pretty positive thing I must say. Maybe because of the food court. I remember there was a food court beside T and T and around the Stockholm lucky brand jeans area. Then just a few years later, T and T took over the food court and expanded their cooked food section/cashiers.

CorneringArtist 01-16-2010 01:42 PM

I remember way back when they were still doing construction on that skywalk that I think is where the food court is now. I was like 7 at the time, and I was always a little scared walking through it because it looked unsafe in there.

Kimosabe 01-16-2010 01:53 PM

I can barely stand to go to Metrotown anymore, it got to the point where we were skipping to go there every day....sometimes more than once a day. Now I go there and all I can think about is just about having to repeat the 12th grade.

arcade at the t&t side

Playdium was awesome. When it was opening they had a booth out by Chapters where they were giving away 1 hour cards if you answered questions correctly. A poorly guarded booth. ;) I think it took us about 2 months to go through all those cards.

What was the name of that arcade by T&T? Circuit Circuit? It was small but cheap, which worked out for my budget

Amuse 01-16-2010 02:46 PM

I miss Playdium as well.
I remember there was a Safeway before T&T took over. Now that area of the mall is like a Richmond mall.

DC5-S 01-16-2010 02:57 PM
