Old school gamers remember Lazer Illusions at Brentwood Mall.

I remember that they had 5 original Street Fighter 2 cabinets beside one another.

The first time I saw the game, the fight counter read "Battle 99"

You guys are remembering things about metrotown that went away like in the last 5-10 years wtf are you guys 15

i remember metro when there was no Eatons side (huh? wtf is Eatons?)

and Playdiums original Restaurant was great (before they down sized it) its a shame it was too loud in there for anyone other than kids/teens to eat in though

rainforest cafe tasted like shit but looked great

but metrotown of today is still better, shame it killed station squares theatre/arcade though

optiblue 01-16-2010 04:50 PM

I miss little tokyo in the old food court :(

twitchyzero 01-16-2010 05:16 PM

hard to believe there used to be a safeway at metro..since there's one right at royal oak

Gh0stRider 01-16-2010 05:42 PM

I remember it was called Eatons. :) I loved Eatons but they went bunk and Sears took over.

shawn79 01-16-2010 05:47 PM

no one mentioned about the skywalk... lol

TypeRNammer 01-16-2010 05:48 PM

Back in the day, Station Square had two theaters, and they would be pretty packed.

I think there's only one left now.

skyxx 01-16-2010 05:49 PM

^ They did, you just didn't read every comment lol. The skywalk was nothing special other than it was cluttered and crowded and I hated walking over to the other side.

shawn79 01-16-2010 05:50 PM

i remember there was laser tag too at metrotown beside the radio shack lol

Sentinel 01-16-2010 06:14 PM

Remember when there was no silvercity/playdium/gizmos/spencers. Then they had that giant construction going on to make room for silvercity and such.

The famous players and cineplex at station square. Super busy... now its a ghost town.

Both the old food courts. When T&T was a smaller supermarket compared to the size it is now.

liu13 01-16-2010 06:47 PM

circuit circus was beside T&T, i'd go there every time dad did grocery shopping to master my MVC2 skills

and it was only maybe 7 years ago that there was the food court near where they sell those hideous dress shirts

im gonna miss that walkway, that thing was sexy

Safeway stores back then were like zits. They'd pop up out of nowhere and dissapear without being noticed.

Having said that, I don't recall one at metrotown.

misteranswer 01-16-2010 08:48 PM

What was the grocery store before T&T?

SumAznGuy 01-16-2010 08:58 PM

Before Rainforest Cafe, wasn't it a Planet Hollywood?

I really don't remember a safeway being where the T&T is.

*Edit*

Searched the internet and before the Rainforest Cafe and Chapters, it was Brettons.

flagella 01-16-2010 09:02 PM
