fucking icbc lowballing fucks.
i think you've paid more in insurance over ur lifetime of driving than what icbc offers you for that car. i took a look at some prices and i saw 15-20k for gs400 so you should fight until you get at least 14k no less than that.

Of course ICBC is going to lowball. Hate to say it, but it's the adjuster's job to save ICBC money. Of course, most Average Joes will accept without thinking twice. Good thing you did your homework!

that was beyond lowball though.
i faxed over 25 pages worth of my bill of sale, service record, receipts and invoices, and other ads via autotrader/craigslist of 98-00 lexus gs300s.
im not asking for a crazy pay out, all im asking for is a fair amount that will get me back into another GS, simple as that.

They also won't cover your missed work either because your at fault, am i correct? I'm not saying your at fault, just a simple question.
Good luck with everything. | everyone gets accident benefits, it's called a "no-fault" coverage, meaning that they will pay for your treatments, at their rates, for as long as you need until you reach the limit of $100k. For example, ICBC covers $27 for chiro under accident benefits. Usually chiro charges about $50. so you pay $33 and ICBC pays $27. If you are at fault, you can either eat the $33 or submit it to your extended health provider for reimbursement, most have up to $500 coverage for chiro. If you are not at fault, you save all your receipts, and they become a part of your tort claim. This is where you are looking to get paid for pain and suffering, loss of wages, your medical expenses and any other expenses you incurred as a result of the accident.

but this was just, so fucking low ball. its not even funny. | I think you already know this, but print and fax ads similar to your car with the highest bid similar to your make, year, model, and kms. CL, autotrader, buysell (doesn't matter if they are the same company; Let them figure that out, just don't duplicate the same car ad)

icbc = the devil
if we don't pay them, it's then illegal to drive our vehicles. When we need them, they don't give a rats ass about you. In SG's case, they ignore and low ball him....

My accident settlement went through last week.
Hired a lawyer of course.

Pretty pleased with that.

im not asking for a crazy pay out, all im asking for is a fair amount that will get me back into another GS, simple as that. | Dude, it is ICBC's job to lowball, and your job to get the best value for your car without getting emotional.
Stay calm and rational. You are trying to get a fair value for your car, and this is what ICBC wants as well. ICBC will pay you MARKET value for your car, including installed options and extras, not what you spent on it, minus depreciation.
Do not reject any offer outright, even if you know it is low, because that shows that you are not trying to be reasonable. Come prepared with a min. value you have in mind, with a range of acceptable offers.
Tell the adjuster, "$6000 might be fair, but I'd like to establish how you determined my car's value at $6000?"
Let the adjustor explain. If you have done your research well, and looked at wholesale/retail values for low/mid/good condition GS, you'd know where the fair value is and what condition your car is in. If the adjustor is lowballing you, he won't be able to explain the $6K.
Next, agree on a fair standard of determining value. State that you would expect a fair market value on your vehicle and see if he agrees with this. (He will).
Now is the time that you show evidence of what you think the market value is based on your research. This establishes the range of market values from low to high. Let him present any data to establish the market value he has.
Once the range has been established, explain why you think Christina deserves to be valued in "good/excellent" condition. Options, mileage, condition, etc (this is where you show your receipts.)
If you use the above method, I can guarantee you are going to get a significantly better offer than the first offer from ICBC.
I think I deserve a bigger avatar for this post.

i still have to wait n see. im asking for a fair amount for christina. enough to get me into another GS of same year. i am expecting to lose a little, especially if it means when i get another GS, ill be spending all the same money i spent on christina (my previous GS) to have all her fluids changed, belts, and those annoying front lower ball joints (which i also replaced on christina). She was well maintained, anyone knows im OCD with her maintenance!
im just still in utter shock at the price they appraised her at, its a slap in the face. even when the estimater was going thru his "research" of other gs's, he kept mentioning this gs from blue star motors going for 9-10g's. I dont know how that car was treated? if thats the one he is basing it on, then how does he expect me to get into another gs with the 6g's he appraised for me?! The reason why i choose my christina, amongst all the others around are because of its long and lengthy service record. The car was services almost 99% of its life, prior to me taking ownership, at a Lexus of Las Vegas dealership. I have all the records stamped, and as a bonus, include the original Sticker window price for Christina. When you have a track record like that, and it being serviced at a lexus dealership, you cant really go too wrong. even prior to buying her, i called the dealership up and got a copy of the service records on top of the carfax done on her. I searched for a good 6 months before i decided on her.
its like telling me my lexus is nothing more than a toyota thus the pricing is of a toyota, yet icbc charges me a premium because its classified as a lexus, and not just another toyota, and thus can charge me higher for insurance!
ive been driving since i was 16, at full coverage, full discount, roadstar plus, 43% maxed out discount, zero at fault accidents, and thats the slap in the face i got from icbc.

And the front lower ball joints are so retarded on the GS/SC.
I've yet to replace mine since it's gonna cost a hefty $500+

Just another reason to hate on ICBC. They always try to play the good guys, but fuck you hard when you are trying to be fair.
Good luck with your battle SG.
