20 new conductor positions just came available https://prod.fadvhms.com/cnr/jobboar...67F3B7FA4C01F5 On a side note: There seems to be alot of negative reviews about working for CN since the american's took over??!!! Alot of it has to do about backstabbing to get promoted, though I might strive in these circumstances! http://www.ratemyemployer.ca/employe...l=en&empID=596 |

Is it really 30 an hour, or is it just averaged that way during the hours you shift, and the hours you sit on call? |
Anyone know what an electrical apprentice for CN makes an hour?? |
How about a conductor? |

Show up 10 minutes before shift, get safety gear on (hi viz vest, safety glasses, boots, etc). Get radio and switch lists (list showing cars in a track and where they are to be sorted in the yard). Determine how to switch them, job brief with crew, and then execute. Once finished, talk to yardmaster for more work. Usually involves taking inbound traffic (trains that come into the yard) and breaking it apart as per the yardmaster. Also build trains to go outbound. I hope that sheds a bit of light on it. I'm trying to not use railway terms and it's difficult. |
