My gf's dad drives from Abbotsford to Vancouver and back every weekday. About 63 km from exit to exit. This doesn't even count the driving he has to do in the city to get to his the job site. In about 13 months, he racked up over 55,000 kms on his new Ridgeline.
I had a manager who commuted from Mission to YVR everyday too. Don't know how the hell he did that in a little Mazda 3. If I had to commute this much, I'd be driving a luxury car for sure cause I hate wind and road noise.
My own job takes only about 7-10 minutes. King Ed and Knight to King Ed and Oak.

I don't drive far to/from work, but I do take my car on nice long highway drives as well. Oddly enough, I manage to drive ~5000km every 3-4 months.

Yes, his family is rich. Like 3 houses in Toronto and one here. Retired parents.
I talk to his dad regularly, and when I asked, he said it was probably worth only about 800k when he bought it 4 years ago. This was of course before he renovated the entire property..now it's worth closer to 1.6mil. 1Mil gets you a similar sized house in Vancouver, but nowhere near the size of the property you get in Richmond. Then again there's another friend who has a house in Steveson facing the Georgia Strait with a pretty big house.. worth 7 Mil. Yikes. Essentially zero property though. It's pretty much just a big house.
Big houses are nice.. but I would rather have alot more property with the same sized house. I'm also a fan of the huge driveway in front of the house leading to the garage on the side. Tis the dream.

I try to warm my car up for about a minute before I start driving and I keep the RPMs below 3k.

21km from Surrey to Bridgeport, passing through the trap known as the Hwy 91.
On good days with no idiots driving at 70km/h on the fast lane, its around 30 mins going at a good clip. I love those days.
If someone decides to be a fucking dumbass and crash on the highway however, the whole highway goes to shit. Thank God for AM730.

40 km. Usually takes about 45 minutes to drive to work but when driving home can take an hour or more to get home.

My boss lives in Chilliwack - works in Burnaby near production way/sfu. He leaves early in the morning (6am) to avoid some of the rush hour traffic. and stays till 5:45PM ish to avoid some rush hour traffic. crazy commute, but when you're getting paid around 150K ish i guess it's worth it? His kids, friends and wife all grew up in chilliwack so they dont want to leave.
I knew a guy that commuted from east van to abbotsford everyday for work. again, his job also paid well.

Thank God for AM730. | I fucking hate the S-curve. retarded people driving in the fast lane that cant drive 60KM/hr through that stretch. I have no problem with people driving slow, just don't do it in the passing lane.

People will always slow down because they are afraid of their car flying off the road. West bound HWY 1 traffic would move a lot better if there wasn't a curve at the beginning of the Port Mann.
