TOS'd, there is 1 store that have all the sizes, and do everything for you.. Did you ask the one furthest from the technician?

Where specifically? Outside or Inside (ie which side)?
I went to all of them that had someone in it and asked if they had screen protectors, and then showed them my phone. I have the desire Z btw, not the normal desire.

Mine was like that until i fixed the APN

TOS'd 11-14-2010 08:02 PM

The data APN worked for me, but when I tried doing the mms one it never listed under the added APNs. But I havent had a chance to test it either, I dont really mms.
Quote:

To do this, simply go to:

* Settings -> Wireless & networks -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names
* Hit the Menu Key and select New APN
* Enter the settings as follows:
Name: Rogers
APN: internet.com
Username: wapuser1
Password: wap
MCC: 302 (Default Value)
MNC: 720 (Default Value)
* Leave everything else blank
* Hit Menu and Save
* Activate the new APN by clicking in the little circle next to its name
* You should see a little 3G pop up in the status bar withing a few seconds and if you are in a good area you will see an H come up as well.
* If for some reason things arent working properly, just pop your battery out and put it back in.
o although you might see the 3G in the corner, it doesn’t always work properly until you do a battery pull

* It is likely that your MMS will not be working either. In order to fix that, simple add a second APN as follows:
Name: Rogers MMS
APN: media.com
Username: media
Password: mda01
Server: 172.25.0.107
MMSC :http://mms.gprs.rogers.com
MMS Proxy: 10.128.1.69
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 72
APN Type: mms
* Leave all other settings blank
* Hit Menu and save
* If you did this properly, you will see it in the list with the APN you created earlier. You should not see a little circle next to the Rogers MMS APN (this is because as an MMS APN it does not need to be set to active – its used in the background for MMS only) If you do happen to see the circle next to it, you probably forgot the last step in the above settings: APN Type: mms

Yeah, the store i am talking about is a white room, there is no ipad covers or anything, that is iskin or w.e the store is, they will have a book with photos of phones and their specifications, and I do clearly remember seeing the htc desire Z, it may depend on who you talked to, if it was the middle aged chinese man, he probably told you the wrong thing, hes a dumbass, the other 2 females working in there would know that they have it. I have walked in with the weirdest phone ever and got screen protectors from them. They also do custom fitted screen protectors if they don't have the desire Z, but im pretty sure they do.

TOS'd 11-14-2010 08:36 PM

^ K i think I know which you are talking about, its in the middle on the inside. I went there today, and there were 2 females working, asked them and showed them the phone. They said they didn't have it.

I thought you actually went to the store and got one, but apparently not. You were just assuming they had it..

To clarify, the cleaclear screens are still water. PrintePrinted ones aren't. Water is by far the best method, but it doesn't matter on the printed ones, since you wouldn't see the bubbles etc anyway.

^ Just placed order for BSE, since zagg doesnt have the IS listed on their website yet.

I also cut down a SGS screen protector to fit on my dZ temporarily.

If I root to stock froyo, do I lose out on the features of HTCsense.com? Debating whether to go stock froyo, or froyo + sense UI.

hongy 11-15-2010 04:11 PM

What rom are you guys using. I'm using leedroid 2.2e and I just found out the video camera doesn't work, never used it before, and it completely crashed on me and rebooted itself. I'm thinking of ditching the sense ui all together.

!MiKrofT 11-15-2010 04:51 PM

2.2F for me. Make sure you're using a recent radio rom if the camera doesn't work.

hongy 11-15-2010 08:42 PM

Well ever since the crash due to the video camera my phone has steadily went down in battery life however it also no longer charges. I plugged it in at 28% and when I came back it was down to 16%. Charge light is on, it even says charging but will not hold a single thing.

!MiKrofT 11-16-2010 09:14 AM

Maybe you should reload from scratch? With a new radio Rom and caliberate the battery.

TOS'd 11-16-2010 12:21 PM

Also not sure how to do things nandroid backup etc. So many termssss lol. Definitely more to know than jailbreaking and customizing an iphone.

It's all easy as soon as you do it once.

SkinnyPupp 11-16-2010 05:34 PM

Without HTC Sense, I don't think you'll be able to use htcsense.com features. It kind of makes... sense...

w00tgasm 11-17-2010 12:31 AM

I think I'm going to return the Desire Z.

I'll suffer through the 9780 until the Nexus S comes out.

Any particular reason(s) why?

TOS'd 11-17-2010 11:30 AM

Despite getting sms time fix, sometimes the sms times are messed up still.

The phone itself is fine and I really like it.
I just don't expect to get a good resale on this phone like I have on my other ones in the past.
