the case looks nice I think i have to order one myself haha |
Just got the Exim in the mail. Quality and glare is much better than the freebie one. No oily rainbow effect. *edit* Bleh. Even though the quality of the Exim is really nice it's 1mm too long grrr. |
I get the same problem with TELUS. Before i only used to get late text messages (a lot too, was annoying as hell), but now I get the late messages as well as dropped calls. So I'm sure the text message issue is TELUS's fault, but unsure of the dropped call issue since its my first phone on the new hspa network. Also I still get pretty terrible battery life even after using the phone for a few weeks. Posted via RS Mobile |
Hmm my battery life's awesome. Using Leedroid 1.9a and Setcpu in interactive mode 245mhz screen off I'm able to get almost 37hours with 14% left. |
Strezelec what rom you using? I used to use Leedroid 1.8c and I can get 40 hours with 20% left !MikrofT do you overclock your processor with Setcpu or just use it to underclock for sleep mode? |
Naa I don't need to OC since it's plenty fast enough for me. I only use it to underclock to 245mhz in sleep mode. I'm now using Leedroid 2.0a APS2D+ version as well as the new 5.10 radio that supposedly gives better reception and faster GPS pickups. |
Hey how did u get aps2d+ to work? I tried based on this link http://android.modaco.com/content/ht...card-for-a2sd/ and it would never get the triangle promp, I've also already got it set to debug usb. Damn work, no time to sit down for a few hours and mess around with the phone. |
I had my card pre-formatted from my other phone. However since you're using Leedroid rom it's easy. Make sure you backup anything you want to keep on your SD card first. Then look for Rom Manager in the programs list. Scroll down to Partition SD Card. Choose 512mb EXT size and 0mb swap size. It should do the rest for you. Once done dump your stuff back to the SD card. Done. |
Once again I think I'll need a link to a site with fucking instructions already, I've used rom manager to partition the sd card, and now if i load up the LeeDrOiD V2.0a A2SD+ Deodexed With Addons file through rom manager I'll be sent into clockwork mod recovery and forever be stuck doing absolutely nothing. Also there's a triangle with an exclamation mark and a droid on my screen after I hit install. |
Press the power button at the triangle. Should allow u to then load the rom |
Where's the cheapest place to get this phone unlocked? Thanks |
http://www.mobileincanada.com/?l=en&u=all is the cheapest atm. |
+1 This is the one I used. Got my code in less than 5min. |

Anyone ever tried to talk to bestskins ever to get a new set because mine is filled with dust already. Also anyone have a set of headphones they don't use? Or can recommend a pair with an attached Mic, for some reason the people I call get w ridiculous amount of static to the point where it hurts if I plug mine in. Posted via RS Mobile |
After going from 90% to 13% in under 8 hours, I decided to install Cyanogen. If so many people are having great success with it, I'll give it a shot. I had to downgrade the hboot first, and that worked easily using these instructions. Now I am running unrevoked to install the rom. |
Everything is up and running! I installed LauncherPro instead of ADW. Now that I got rid of Sense and its clunkiness, I can use some of the cooler homescreen/widget apps. I'll see how my battery life does. Usually after a day of going to the gym and back, I am down to 20-30% with moderate usage. |
90% - 13% in 8hours? That's pretty crappy. On Leedroid 2.0, the latest radio ROM from XDA, and some setcpu/autosync tweaks I get 15hours 52% left. |
im thinking about picking up an android phone how is the sound quality for music playback from the desire? |
Sound quality is good, but listening to music will drain the fuck out of your battery. |
Engadget did a comparison for the older AMOLED screens they used in the original Desire's vs the new SLCD. Interesting what they said about the battery life. http://www.engadget.com/2010/09/13/s...versus-amoled/ |
Interesting read. I wish they did a browser test. Amoled is supposed to be much worse for battery life when it has to display white. Posted via RS Mobile |
Made it to about 50% after today, an improvement! THat's with some pretty heavy use, including web browsing and of course ANGRY BIRDS It definitely doesn't feel like a solid retail operating system though. There are some odds bugs, including one that had my pulling my battery out to reset it. I might give a basic Desire rom without Sense a try, that might be the best option overall. I think Sense is the biggest battery hog of all. |
