Yea that was us. Fucking retarded, somebody must have seen it. A bike doesn't fall over by itself, then get stood back up. The fairings are scratched up, his helmet, shift linkage bent, kick stand bent, clutch cable snapped, clutch lever bent.... Any information would be really useful please. pm oHenry, or myself. Thanks. |

In response to complaints about the meet from the pictures thread, I have a suggestion: We need 1000+ car parking lots. My suggestion for next year's location: Adesa Richmond parking lot. From a marketing point of view Adesa will be able to promote their auto auction to everyone who went to the meet and you can do your meet at a ultra super big lot. If they would do it for cheap it's even better for SG's pocket, and we'd be in a regularly shaped huge parking lot. Even if we park ALL of the attendee's cars in we are probably only going to occupy at most 1/4 of that lot below. I would guess Adesa will be interested to hear this story, too, if we show them how big of a crowd a typical RS summer meet draws. Plus all of the attendees drive and thus we are easily bringing a crowd of 500+ potential customers TO THEM. Adesa used to do regular promotions, coincidently, at the night market... http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=49.157783,-123.030932&spn=0.005304,0.016512&t=h&z=17 Given we have a year until next meet they might be able to get us in at their convenience....The lot is never ever full. |
^responded to your idea in the other thread, although if we do give them huge notice they might be able to pull it off. |
^ Yeah coz they are always moving their cars around in and out for dealers even without us coming to them... so if given long enough notice they just have to sort of "migrate" them towards one end of the lot over a few weeks for us and we'd be in good shape... Actually to prove my point look at this: http://adesarichmond.ca/index.php In their schedule they are going to do a Classic Car Show n Shine (huge, they say) on site anyway on September 18th....I'm sure they are open to another meet where the clientèle is actually more relevant to public auctions... ;) |

It was such a good meet im kinda of regreting sleeping in and only coming for like 45 mins oh well good meet non the less :D |
If space was going to be a problem then some of the "stock" cars should have been turned away. I know the Mazda 3 and Civic club has great support, yet row after row of mostly stock cars is kinda boring, I can see that at the dealership. It was sad to see nicer cars on the street than in the lots. Perhaps kill the prize for group with the most cars. |

Simple example when we said free hot dogs everyone came rushing up. When it was a dollar, people slowly came. When I was on the grill people came up and ask "Free?" I reply with a "By donation $1 on my right" and 3-4 guys have the guts to say, "so I don't want to donate. I don't wanna pay I want my hot dog" |

fun event, would have stayed longer but incredibly hung over and the sub-woofers weren't helping! |
wow are u serious? people were that cheap? i paid my $2 for a drink and a hot dog, and thought it was a good deal. Didn't know I got a free hotdog with a food bank donation. So I donated my cans afterwards lol o well great meet except for those who damaged other people's property. It was my first meet and certainly wont be my last :D |

but train horn? ferry horn! LOL |
It's not legal. |

My point is, the main objective of these meets is to get a bunch of people out to support the car scene, rep their crews, and get people to mingle with those they normally wouldn't. Plus, a lot of us saw cars we wouldn't see on the streets (or at dealerships either.) Turning people away, because their car is "stock" would result in a lot less numbers-and Revscene isn't an elitist community-it's for everyone  |
