In regards to the "suggestions" that we get a bigger lot next year, I think i can say that if you've noticed that, you better believe we noticed it too. This was not our first choice in parking lots to get but unfortunately our first choice required us to be out by noon. Since that didn't seem like an options we went with the good folks at the night market. We will work on securing a bigger lot next year and hopefully we won't have to turn away people like yesterday. Unfortunately we are in a growing city and finding parking lots that can hold 750+ cars is harder and harder to find and costs more and more every year. We could move it out to the burbs but i know the majority of you guys wouldn't want to cross a bridge to attend a meet. We do what we can with the options that are put in front of us but sometimes there's going to be problems here and there. If any of you were around for the VERY first RS meet at Ideal will know that RS meets have come a long ass way and that we've adapted a lot since then. . We learn and move on.

I think I speak for everyone, when I thank you guys again for putting on this meet every year. It's always a blast  Your hard work does not go unappreciated!!!

Since we're all in agreement that a much larger lot is needed (which is AWESOME! Just shows that the import scene is showing no signs of slowing down) If this means that the meet may have to be moved out to 'the burbs', then so be it. It's just a fact of our growing city.

Frankly, it pisses me off to no end, that some people on this site will not travel over a bridge for a car meet. The whole point of modifiying our cars is to DRIVE them! Jesus. I have ZERO issue driving from Pitt Meadows to Spanish Banks for the Spring meets, as well as the Summer meets. And I know there are a ton more people who travel a lot longer/further than that with no complaints. If someone doesn't want to drive to someplace out in the valley for the meet, good. Stay the fuck home. Just means more space for the rest of us.

Regardless where the meet ends up next year, I'll be there, and I hope everyone else has the same attitude. I definately know it's not easy finding room for all of us, so in the end, we shouldn't be bitching. We should just be thankful we have a spot to all meet, hang out, and have fun

Jgresch 08-30-2010 09:16 PM

^wish I had a "thanks" left for you. I came from Maple Ridge, the drive out there in a freshly detailed car is half the fun :)

Ranterok 08-30-2010 09:17 PM

When i was listening to the soundsgood results for the dbs competition, I heard that some people drove down from duncan, and kelowna, and vernon. Those people came all the way down here without complaining and some people from east van are complaining over a bridge, I think that's real hurt.

All T-shirts, stickers and Lanyards can be purchased at my shop. They are pretty much there all year 'round!

Yes, but unfortunately they wanted all of us out by noon (Silvercity Richmond). Yeah, that was simply not going to happen!

Yup. We had guys come down from as far as Vernon and on the island as well. Thats a lot of gas/ferry money! Yet they made it did well at our compeition!

I'm sure the execs have thanked all the people that I would have thanked! Trying to fit 600+ cars into a 400 lot parking lot can be pretty tough. I would like to thank the members for their patience and understanding during the roll-in procedure as well as letting off the gas when leaving as well. Keeping things safe is the most important thing we can do to ensure that these events continue in the future.

Ok, last Exec to chime in. I'm gonna keep it short and sweet (since I talked so much during the RS games =P) Like !SG and Chooman said. Thank you to all the sponsors, clubs, and beautiful people who came out to support our annual summer meet. Big thank you to all the volunteer staff who worked hard at the grill, sales booth, traffic, set-up, clean-up, etc. etc. Hope everyone had a blast, b/c I certainly had fun. See y'all at the next meet :D

p.s. The contestants did puke! but just not during the games. Chooman told me there was barf that he saw after the meet was over :D

Time for another volunteer to chime in, thank you execs and moderators for having another successful meet, but let's not forget the time and effort that the execs, head mods and mods do year round... They are the ones that make RS what it is today...

Thanks :)

This.

I had lots of fun, Thank you to everybody who made this a fun and exciting meet. And more importantly the execs for organizing all the crap that was needed to organize prior to the event.

If you need me to volunteer again next time feel free to drop me a line :)

Raid3n 08-31-2010 11:12 AM

lol, it wasn't too bad after the bobby wings, aside from my mouth being on fire (got it under control in like 10-15 mins) but i had no taste buds after that.... nothing tasted right the rest of the day lol

I would gladly pay a 1$ fee. I live in abbotsford, all i see here is mustangs, skylines and civics. 1$ isnt that bad when you get to see a lot full of modified or stock cars that you don't see everyday, in my case anyways :P.

Time for an old skool member to chime in:

A well deserved thanks to all the admins, mods, vendors and especially the volunteers in making this event happen. The RS summer meet is an annual tradition and they seem to be growing (participation wise) every year. RS has come a long way and it's good to see a fresh wave of new enthusiasts every year, especially RS members who volunteer their time.

Although I did not stay for very long, it was good to see the familiar faces and the size of the meet itself. Didn't see too too many OSR members but I guess that comes with age and priorities. :p

Thanks again for a successful event! :)

!Aznboi128 08-31-2010 12:37 PM

Bcrdukes, your vespa looks a lot better then that stupid gh0strider's gsxr :p
