WTF, Ctrl+Backspace?

I can't believe I went my entire life without knowing this computer shortcut.

Cntrl+Backspace deletes the entire word rather than letter by letter!

Did you guys know about this?

ajax 06-03-2010 02:10 AM

To start press any key. Where's the "any" key? I see Esc, Catarl, and Pig Up. There doesn't seem to be any "any" key. Wo! All this computer hacking is making me thirsty. I think I'll order a Tab.

u know u can also highlight an entire sentence, hit backspace, and the entire sentence disappears! ZZOMG!111!!111!!111111111!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no really tho, ctrl+del also works too, but it deletes the entire word after the cursor.

did you also know alt+f4 is a quick way to save your documents?

give it a try sometimes ;)

LiquidTurbo 06-03-2010 02:24 AM

^.. that involves a mouse or three buttons being pressed.. Cntrl+Shift+arrows. Then a backspace.:D

Dunno why I found this so amusing. Must be because its late.

mr_baboon 06-03-2010 04:52 AM

In Firefox: middle click on links to open them in a new tab... Might also work for IE if anybody still uses it.

simsimi1004 06-03-2010 05:16 AM

^^ works for IE too
ctrl + left click does the same thing.

Middle click on a tab header also closes that tab.

That only goes in one direction, left to right, and works in IE and Firefox.

In Firefox, CTRL + Page Up or Page Down allows you to switch between tabs in both directions.

ctrl + enter is by far my favorite one and I've been using it for like over 10 years. I'm shocked that so many people don't know this one. Even worse when I see people actually type out www.XXXXX.com
