That location is one I do agree with having a speed trap. There are residential properties not far after that 50kmph sign, so cars should slow down.

The opposite direction, Knight south of Bridgeport, there are speed traps setup under an overpass. Knight is divided, 2 lanes, with no on/off ramps at that location - so it makes little sense to have a speed trap there to improve safety, it is purely a cash grab.

For me, I don't find this a problem cause I usually slow down to 50 by the time I get to that sign and just stay in the right lane.

However, I hate going down the hill to get onto the Knight bridge. It's 50 down the hill and goes up to 60 when you get to the bridge and doesn't get to 80 until after the merging. However, I like to go on the left lane before getting on the bridge to avoid all the cars merging in. However, I feel like I'm holding back traffic cause I'm going around 50 down the hill and everyone is passing me. Then I accelerate to 60 when I get to the sign but everyone around me's like going at 80 down the hill already. I've seen police at the bottom of the hill before and you can't see them cause the overhanging trees give them cover. I don't want to get a ticket so I go the speed limit, but feel that I'm more of a hazard cause of everyone else wizzing by me.

yes, that is exactly what i am saying. there is a sign on the highway before the one you are talking about that probably says the same speed as the one you're just now seeing, several hundred meters after joining the highway. everyone in the far right lane is going that speed +/- ~10kph. they aren't going 50kph like you are joining up with them. ever wondered what would happen to your car if another car slammed into the back of it going 40kph faster than you? no? well you're going to find out the hard way if you keep that up.

you should also note there is a law against performing maneuvers that inhibit other drivers. such as joining a highway/freeway at 50% of that sections limit.

i know you like to play the devil's advocate and nit pick every law and the actions of every driver out there, but there is a limit to senseless arguing.

So why then do I know of people who have received tickets for speeding up before the speed limit sign?
