My only recognition of THANOS was from MARVEL SUPER HEROS game

DanHibiki 10-12-2011 03:12 PM

Marvel is breaking the sci-fi boundary with superhero movies with the Avengers.

For the most part, superhero movies were, for the most part, limited to Earth. Those who have tried to expand to outer space failed.

X-Men was given the opportunity with Phoenix but they wussed out and went a different route.

I thought Marvel did a good job easing people in with Thor and assume they would really push it with the Skrull in The Avengers.

They could be paving a new acceptance in superhero movies with this.

StylinRed 10-12-2011 03:19 PM

you mean like fantastic four or green lantern?

Culverin 10-12-2011 03:21 PM

One thing I am liking is that Marvel isn't wussing out at all.

The material, though slightly different isn't different for the sake of watering it down for newbs. They are staying faithful to the spirit of the material and throwing enough money at the movies to do it justice. They have taken their movies and done it in serious light, not necessarily dark like the Nolan Batman reboot, but they aren't dicking around like with Green Lantern.

It is paying for for them, big time.

I'm hoping my faith in Joss Whedon is not misplaced.

StylinRed 10-16-2011 01:53 PM

BaoTurbo 02-05-2012 07:28 PM

No X Men? Lol jk. I think they would make a great addition to the team anyways

DanHibiki 02-05-2012 08:12 PM

First X-Man to join the Avengers was Beast.

ShadowBun 02-06-2012 04:15 PM

best part
"we have a army"
"we have a hulk" :fuckthatshit:

DanHibiki 02-06-2012 04:39 PM

This is gonna be the first movie we finally get to see Hulk bash on crap load of baddies.

The other two movies was mostly against human tanks and stuff and u know he's not gonna kill any of them since they are good guys.

No holding back this time!

dachinesedude 02-06-2012 06:22 PM

Except Black Widow looked so weak compared to the rest,
cause all she had was a tiny pistol.

how come war machine isn't in there?

JKam 02-07-2012 07:45 AM

war machine (typically) isn't an avenger.

so excited for this movie though. I wonder if le gf will watch the midnight release with me lol.

DanHibiki 02-08-2012 04:00 AM

I understand why war machine isn't an avengers but thinking in terms of the world they created? They need as many heroes as they can to fend off an invasion right? So why would they not get Rhodes on board too? Shit he's a soldier who would be much easier to deal with than tony.

And I wonder what Rhodes is doing the whole time the city is being invaded.

Well he is military... so he won't/can't be a part of the Avengers. I'm sure War Machine will make a cameo but no way is he a main character.

Thats what I thought too. But at the end of The Incredible Hulk, Tony Stark talks to General Ross about how they are "putting together a team".

Ross is also military.

Sooo....??

his talk with Ross was about recruiting Hulk, he's talking to him cuz Ross has info on him

StylinRed 02-08-2012 04:49 PM

maybe they'll explain it in the movie

supposedly theres lots of "cool" stuff and other characters that have been kept under wraps in the film (not just the villains)

I hope so. But I have a feeling that they won't mention War Machine at all.

I know it'll never happen since Sony owns the rights to Spider-Man but DAMN, it would be a awesome dynamic adding him the to team. Him and his youth and quirkiness.

Also u guys should check out this ridiculous fan-made motion comic

made me ;_;

I really really don't like Captain America's new costume.
