According to Event Hubs, Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono recently dropped a fairly sizable bomb on attendees of the company's "Street Fighter Mania!: SSFIV and Beyond" panel at Comic-Con: Street Fighter X Tekken. The oft-rumored project will be developed by Capcom using the Street Fighter IV engine (only with two-fighter tag team battles), and will feature a number of fighters from Namco's similarly successful fighting franchise, including Kazuya and Nina Williams.
But that's not all! Ono also revealed that Namco Bandai would be developing Tekken X Street Fighter, which will be developed in-house at Tekken, and spearheaded by long-time franchise producer Katsuhiro Harada. Both titles will be released for 360 and PS3, though according to a cheeky slide at the end of the presentation, the current release window is "not for a while!"
i think Capcom strategy with this is release a new fighting game once a year
so with MvC3 next year, i assume this game will be out by 2012...... plenty of time to tweak characters..
i dont know how Namco's version of Tekken X Street Fighter will work since the engine is based on almost no projectiles and mostly on air juggles
if Ed Boon is able to resurrect the MK franchise, then please i just hope if its not on this curent gen console, but on the next one, they can make a cross over game
i'm not really digging the artstyle. It seems like they amped up alot of the "brush strokes" on the characters and they just look off. The tekken hitsparks don't seem to fit too well either.. hrm
The 2v2 humans would be unreal, that's what takes away from SSF4 and MVC3 is the fact that you can't play with your buddies in the same match... I know when I'm with a bunch of my friends playing it would be a lot more fun a la 2v2
2v2 with separate people would be cool, but it would also suck if you played with someone who was worse than you.
Imagine the saltiness online if you got partnered up with a bad teammate.
